Motorizing an Evapotron
I live with Pepperland Theme Camp, and for the last 6 years or so, we've used a classic Evapotron model (designed by Larry Breed). Usually, it works without a hitch, but last year, except for a short blast of devastating wind on Wednesday, there really wasn't enough wind to power our Evapotron and g...

Calling All Toastmasters - and Beyond!
"We’re really doing it again: Pepperland (6:30 and E) is having a real Toastmasters meeting for the fourth year in a row. It’s 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Tuesday. If you are a Toastmaster already, bring your ‘CL’ manual and whatever speech manual you like, and get credit for any role you take on. Let us kno...

Re: 7:30 Neighborhood Camps
Would you believe that 6:30 is still in the 7:30 naborhood? It IS! Pepperland theme camp is located at 6:30 and Effigiare. It's our 9th year or so, though we were named "Cartoon Commune" for the last 8 (remember us?) Got most of the same 250 hours(!) of activities/events/entertainment as in the past...

Lost/Went Missing Folding Chairs
Five, pro-quality, office folding chairs went missing during the week of Bman 2014, from Cartoon Commune theme camp. We were located on the 7:30 Portal/Keyhole. The owner would sure like to get them back. First is to find their current whereabouts. Thanks.

Re: Street Name Predictions for 2013
I agree wholeheartedly with bmix on permanently designating "Rod's Road".
On the rest, let's not get too, too esoteric, okay? The early suggestions seemed more accessible than some of the latter.
For K: how about Koolaid?
For J: Jonestown, of cuss.

Re: 2013 Theme - Cargo Cult - thoughts?
Agree. All we really need is for the aliens to come and give us all the entitlements we might wish for. Yeah, that's the ticket! Free medical care and 3D HDTV and school lunches and love mates provided. They will finally bring an end to that nasty self reliance, and that nefarious self control. We c...

Re: 7:30 Neighborhood camps for 2012
Oh, you lovely Abstininthe! Just about enough flavors to beat Baskin-Robbins by double! Betcha B-R doesn't have "Pear-alysis," eh? Let alone that very interesting one with Basil, or the truly wacko one: "Sardine" - really, burners, they really have it! Turns out, if you like Sardines, it's a legit f...

Re: 7:30 Neighborhood camps for 2012
Ahoy ahoy from Cartoon Commune! Our sixth year in this incarnation, and definitely part of the 7:30 +/- neighborhood. We'll be having many dozens of hours of activities and interactive exhibits to share. (It's all in the WaWaWa, so I'll keep you in suspense for now.) Visitors welcome! [attachment=0]...

You're telling me that billboard vinyl can be repeatedly trod and danced on for a week and not be reduced to a MOOPy pulp?

Looking for a few things
I'm looking for a few things for 2012: 1. Transpo from OC for one of our campers and his stuff. 2. A spigot that fits onto a typical 5-gal water jug (the one we've been using for several years finally succumbed to excess playa dust). A link to a site that sell's 'em would do, too. 3. Info on a rugge...

Re: Barbershop Quartet Singers wanted
Okay, well, there's so many posts it's hard to keep up, but obviously, the first priority here would be to establish a quartet at least. Without that, the rest doesn't matter. After that, however, the next step would be to publicize it to the playa world. That's where our audience comes in.

Barbershop Quartet Singers wanted
No idea about how many responses to this, but is anyone a Barbershop Quartet singer? If so, I'd like to arrange a little singing - informal, or at some venue - my theme camp (Cartoon Commune - C near 7:30) or at a venue, or on the playa. Eh? If you're not a singer, or aren't interested, you needn't ...

FYI to Illy dilly, Ya got me thinking. Couldn't stop. So I wrote to the Placement peeps and asked them about their generic LNT verbiage. By gum, they are a Class Act!
