, low on sand snakes. Just to clarify... do you mean actual snakes? or just waves of sand that look like snakes. If actual snakes, how big of an issue is this? Do I need some sort of snake killing weaponry? Snake trapping habitat? Have I mentioned I am afraid of snakes? Usually not to much of an is...

Re: Shade Cloth - Home Depot?
I've used the shade cloth from HD before and it held up quite well for many trips to the playa. I just used a grommit kit and folded over the corners to give it a little extra strength.

Re: Heads up on Arctica Price Changes on 6pack Purchases.
Still a good deal for ice in the desert! True it is indeed a great deal. I just figured I'd spread the word so people would not get on the playa and be short because of the old prices. I know with our camp we'd do a bulk run and give the free bag to the bar so they would be stocked with out having ...

Heads up on Arctica Price Changes on 6pack Purchases.
So I just heard via my camp that Arctica is no longer offering the 6 pack for $15 discount any more. Now its the full price of $3 a bag or $18 for the six pack. While I haven't seen an official statement about it, the http://arctica.burningman.org/ page does show ice prices that reflect the new price.

Re: cooling your tent or van
Just a FYI that the Costco brand of batteries are "Kirkland" and are usually found in the Tire/Auto shop of the store. You might be able to find deep cycle batteries at Autozone or other auto stores, but the local one by me only had normal car batteries. Other places you can get them at are Walmart ...

Re: EZ Up = EZ Down? Bad idea?
I've used one in the past and it survived the week for two years. Your mileage may vary tho due to different brands of them and what the weather is like. When I had them I staked down each leg, then used tarp clips to guy down the canopy from the edges and then a rope circle with 4 ropes coming off ...

You can get a plastic battery box that will do the job for around $10-15 at W-mart or an automotive supply store that will protect it from most of the elements.leftynaut wrote:any recommendation on how to protect the battery from the elements? do i put it inside of my tent? or is that a big no-no fire hazard....

Re: Lag screws vs everything else...
So I just read the post in the "Playa Conditions 2014" thread about the 1" EMT shade structure using foot pads and lag bolts having the poles pull out of the foot pad and the whole side flipped over. (It is the same structure design that we use.) It got me thinking; has anyone drilled a hole in the...

If you got the cash there is http://grizcoat.com/products/panda-coat
Alternately here is a search on ebay for panda hoodies and filtered to "US Only" & Buy it now, that has a lot of similar items to the one you posted. http://goo.gl/vPNSUW

Your battery is a 1260 Wh battery. Expanding on what Eye was said, while you converted the device to 110v, you forgot to convert the Ah of the battery to 110v. While it has 105Ah @ 12V, it only has ~11.45Ah @110V 12V * 105Ah = 1260Wh -> 1260Wh / 110v = 11.45 Ah running at 110V 105Ah/8Amps = 13.125 ...

Re: To be delivered and picked up
As other said the only way to be certain is to contact the BMORG, but I don't think option 2 will work for a few reasons. 1.From the full description "A delivery driver may only buy one delivery ticket, so it is not an option for anyone needing multiple deliveries." Which sounds that the will take t...

Re: Lag screws vs everything else...
I have possible concerns about the clothesline tighteners. First, I'd worry that the tightener body's grip on the rope is not enough to hold during a strong wind storm. This could be mitigated by knotting or having some thing on the end of the rope that keeps it from pulling through if the grip fail...

Re: To be delivered and picked up
Yep owner would need a ticket and if owner is brining a passenger, you'd need a ticket for them or the entire vehicle might get turned away. Per the gate FAQ: "If you are giving someone a ride to Burning Man, including ride shares and hitchhikers, please be sure they have a ticket or you may end up ...

Also keep in mind that the 6" wide bidirectional filament tape is not something that you will be able to find in any store. Usually you will need to special order it. While you could use what ever tape you can get at a hardware store, you are setting yourself up for possible structural failure of th...

That even might sound true if it were not the fact that US Gypsum trucked hundreds of thousands of tons over the very same roads. They did this for 20+ years but its us who must pay. And I would be willing to bet that US Gypsum was charged to help maintain the roads over those 20+ years. 40-50 thou...

Re: 1 1/4" trailer hitch bike rack - rack recommendations
Having used both types, I'd recommend the platform rack. It is much easier to put the bikes on, as you don't have to fuss getting frame on the hanging rack arms just right. Just set it in the holders and strap it in. The platform is also good if your bike is heavy or you are bringing multiple bikes....

Ok that is just bull, I was in the waiting room and then it kicked me back to the enter code screen with the error that the code was invalid. Cleared the cache and entered the code again, I'm going to be mad if this caused me to lose my spot in the queue.

So does being in the waiting room mean we are in the queue for tickets or waiting for the site to deal with the high demand?

If you are good at sewing or know someone who is, you can make one for a reasonable price. I made a few for the playa last year with a few different fabric types.
A good pattern that I found for making a "sports kilt" is at http://www.modelautoracing.com/kilt/X-Kilt_final2.pdf
