Re: Shade Cloth - White 50% Vs. Black 70%

They do not come all the way to the ground anymore tho, they stop about 4' above it. This baby is beautiful, easy to put up/down, and has TONS of shade.

Re: Shade Cloth - White 50% Vs. Black 70%

Can I ask a dumb question? What's with the dog legs coming off your cover. Do you intend for people to sit there? I have a 10 foot 1V dome, everyone sits inside the perimeter. It seems to me you could save yourself some fabric, not loose any real shade and make things a whole lot easier for your se...

Camp looking for 16 - 20 foot flat bed trailer. Base in LA

So our guy with the trailer just backed out. Lots of stuff to haul, no way to do it. We have an excursion so we can haul with the best of them but now we need the trailer. Anyone have or know of anyone with a 16-20 foot long trailer they would be willing to let us use/rent out. We are now in dire ne...

Wiring LED Floodlights in parallel with a honda 1000

So my camp has expanded to 50 this year. We are very happy and on schedule with our build and have started putting finishing touches on our shade and other camp features. We are thinking of using these LED floodlights ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Waterproof-10W-LED-RGB-Flood-Light-Wall-Washing-Yard-Gar...

Shade Cloth - White 50% Vs. Black 70%

So my camp has IMMEDIATELY begun plans for the expansion of our shade structure ( A pretty bitchin 1V dome with 10' struts ). We are planning to build a second dome and rig shade cloth to make the 3D rendering below come to life. We are trying to decided between buying 70% black shade cloth or 50% w...

Re: A FIX: Require registration for all tickets won in lotte

[quote="Herring"]I said it elsewhere, but again, you only need to make lower tier tickets registered with names and non trabsferable. If you want to gift tickets, if you need extra tickets for your camp, if you don't like the idea of bringing your ID, buy the top tier no-name no-registry tickets. Ed...

Re: Fertility 2.0 is an nod to the last major experiment

Totally agree its a nod to the last experiment. I think the experiment is to discover if burning man is actually fertile, or sterile. Can it reproduce? In an environment where the event can no longer be all inclusive, can it create new life and new burns? Will it multiply and become a true culture? ...

Re: Fertility 2.0 meaning

I think its fitting that the theme is fertility, especially with all this ticket drama, and the difficulties with theme camps and their ability to pool resources when the tickets are distributed randomly. Maybe its the Borgs way of spreading the pollen. Allowing the people who have the wares and the...

Re: Ticket fiasco reaction from the LLC

Not at all too late to make a positive change to this mess. Names can still be put on tickets . Ask those that won the lottery for the names, now. Either that, or it goes back into the STEP. A simple ID and ticket check at the gate won't overly slow down entry (hell, I've waited 4+ hours on the pla...

Re: Official "Not Awarded Tix" Thread

My group came out 0 for 5. Honestly I just think this gave scalpers two weeks to open as many credit cards and create as much phony registration info as they could to snatch up the tickets. There are already very large numbers of tickets up for resale above 650 on stub hub. Way to "keep them out of ...

A note on monkey huts: Don't close up the ends unless you have a mighty swamp cooler to pump in. A campmate did that this year and made an astounding sauna by mistake. Yup, we bought a tarp that was extra long and closed off one end of ours last year. HOLY COW did it get hot in like two seconds. We...

Re: Fireproofing Shade Sturctures

lol, I used radius and diameter because while I was typing I was looking at the sketch, and we have the larger circle marked with a radial line and the center concentric circle makred with its diameter cuz there was already a line running straight through it. I did a quick readup on the road fabric....
