Re: Rename Critical Tits?

"Critical Tits" has a nice ring, and emphasizes that the ride is not just about a bunch of women riding down from the man, but that they can do so topless (or even nude) in a safe, non-sexualized manner. me 2! I mean, ITA w/BBadger entirely. I am female. Considered doing CT this year (my virgin yea...

Re: Interesting critique of Burning Man

Haven't seen the discussion and not sure I want to as I've learned what Heinlein once taught concerning pig vocalists. That said, I find it lightly entertaining when I do see liberals bashing conservatives who attend B-Man as pretending to be liberal neo-hippies in order to fit in or relive some mis...

Re: Some Volunteers at the Center Camp Cafe shouldn't volunt

Oh, I know about that phenomenon ... and I forget the playa term for it ... where you just reach critical mass. You're tired, or overwhelmed, or simply releasing a year's worth of pent-up frustrations that can be released because of the challenges of a completely different environment to be had in B...

Re: Some Volunteers at the Center Camp Cafe shouldn't volunt

Not sure why there's hostility toward someone who has a reasonable expectation for basic courtesy and respect from the people he or she encounters. Is it because he dared to actually comment on it? Is it normal practice to be snippy with people who express disappointment in rude, discourteous behavi...

MooseJoose: +1
All you long winded (posting) lovefest people are giving me an invite to raise as much hell as I can at the temple burn. Re: Some Volunteers at the Center Camp Cafe shouldn't volunt

Every volunteer I encountered I am delighted to say were terrific, cheerful, funny, engaging, personable and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. I wonder what was up with the ones who were supercilious? I mean, why volunteer if you're not happy doing that kind of thing? There'd be other ways to gi...

Re: Temple Burn -- one hour of silence and reverence possibl

I'd agree that people making a big public issue out of trying to force reverence or silence clang the big ol' irony gong and are, in their ways, worse than the assholes who figure disregarding an emotional or spiritual aura is a fun thing to do. Generally speaking, anger is too easy to come by. Ppl ...

Re: post what you didn't like about 2011 here

And why is it the young men?
Testosterone. Higher in young men than older men, far less present in young/old women. Thus, more aggression paired with lack of experience or preparedness. Also less willingness to heed what it's all about, and more inclina...

Re: Countdown app for smartphones

Look on Android Market for "Final Countdown". You create as many events in it as you want, enter date and time to event, name the event, and you can place a widget on your homescreen for that specific event. I use it all the time for trips and used it for Burn2011

Re: Temple Burn -- one hour of silence and reverence possibl

Yup. Angry people who cannot tell the difference between requests for respect and "rules" are fun to deal with. Love the dude calling the OP names and getting pissy about it. I think the issue isn't the relative few who express their own Temple experiences sincerely in loud fashion, but the larger g...

Re: Temple Burn -- one hour of silence and reverence possibl

The Temple has always been the epicenter of the burn for me. One just has to walk through the Temple late in the week to understand the gravity of what is going on there. I believe it to be the central element of the event. The man has lost his symbolism as far as...

Re: Temple Burn -- one hour of silence and reverence possibl

Those who are bashing the OP: really? You have a week of partying your asses off. You have a week of debauchery, fun, frolicking, noise, and being the biggest assholes or the sweetest cherubs the planet has ever experienced. You have a week and 10,000 places to do exactly what pleases you. What plea...
