It does not make sense. . . Assuming that all weekenders are tourists is lazy thinking. I plan on coming out next year no matter how short that may be - even if it's only 1 or 2 days. This year (my first year) I drove a week, got there Sunday, and stayed through temple; however, I was fortunate tha...

Ok.. At first . . . Maybe I am just an asshat that doesn't understand... and for that I humbly apologize. So, You think that buying a ticket to burning man and the art there is just going to be destroyed in the end.. Your ticket gives you the right to act out your subhuman asshole self to destroy a...

A rare Langdon sighting! Hi Langdon! (Did you visit the Pier too? It's an excellent excuse to wear hip waders before the cocktail hour.) Yes I saw it the first night (Sunday) in my wanderings and throughout the burn (people were raver fishing as a man in a black morph suit and glow hands ...

I've had this Eureka backpacking tent for nearly 30 years. Never used it on the playa, but I have used it in very windy places in Wyoming and it holds up marvelously. It is called the 2-man Mountain tent. Don't know if they make it anymore, but is has plenty of space for a single person with gear a...

Anybody use military surplus for camping?

Was thinking about picking up an army cot or two and some other gear from a surplus store or yard sale - suggestions or money better spent elsewhere? Thanks

While sobering, I'm reading these to not be an asshat my first time this year. Just bought my ticket today and can't get to sleep... almost 5 am. What's a generally low-douche-baggery place to set up?

I can walk or ride to where I want to go and explore
