It will be me and 2 others with minimal gear and possibly a couple bikes to bring along. We would like to be there at the beginning of the event, and leave that saturday. We will help with whatever resources need to be split, including driving. Please let me know if you have room!
Thank you!

Re: Material costs and links for DIY builds
Apox, Can you use a non deep-cycle battery if you are trickle charging it each day? I want to run all day on the system with pump and fan, but just fan at night...so I'm only going to run the pump off the solar panel, but I will plan on running the fan off of a battery. Can't think that fan will pu...

Re: Tarp material advice needed...
Im actually rethinking my structure. I think I am going to go with the 4 pole shade stucture. I saw someone talking about it on another thread and it seems like that may be the way to go. It's apparently its UV treated and would provide good shade for my tent. Plus, it will frees up finances for a s...

Re: Where do I camp?
Why on the map of the Playa does it mark 'Walk-in Camping' is the section on the right? is that the only place we can camp if we aren't apart of a theme camp? I think this is where a lot of the confusion comes from.

I trim with a beard trimmer. That way, my man hood is like a refreshing Coca-Cola. Refreshing and it tickles your nose with the first sip.

Re: cooling your tent or van
I bought a fan off of frozencpu that puts out 217 cfm. I think the most important is the cfm, not really the brand. Unless it was from somebody who is known to be crap.

Re: cooling your tent or van
the problem I ran into when thinking about how to build mine was that if you got the solar powered pump from amazon and harbor freight was that the power needed to run the 190+CFM fans were that the solar panel wouldnt produce enough while also running the small pump. those small pumps' solar panel ...

Thanks for the reply. I will have a large vehicle on the windward side, so I think I am leaning more towards this one:

Seems more durable, its thicker, and more budget friendly... What do you think?

I am building a Galaxy Hut as per GalaxyBeing (Thank you for your clear how to!! http://galaxybeing.com/galaxyhut/) and while I'm gathering my materials, I have found that Home Depot does not carry the correct size as stating in the instructions. Re: cooling your tent or van
Howdy Y'all. Has anyone tried using a plain old "accessory car fan" for this project? it would seem to be a natural fit for a 12v fan that runs off of a cig. lighter plug. Hard to find CFM numbers but i would guess 500-900CFM based on a few similar fans. This could actually be a fun project... I ha...

Re: cooling your tent or van
kgryfon, What im doing is having my pump run off the solar panel (since it came with one) and my fan run off the battery. To charge, I bought this solar panel: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004FOEUI0 and having it always keeping the battery charging. This panel is nice because it comes with a ch...

I heard that there was a spring-fed swimming spot around the mountains on the 2 - 3 o'clock side. I heard it was only accessable via a mutent vehicle or a car/truck. Anyone heard of this or has been there?

Re: Sneaking into Burning Man
do you really think that burners who have become poor recently should not be allowed to return? Or first timers that have to scrimp and save every penny to attend should not be allowed to? And to answer your last question, absolutely not. But you can bet your ass those are the people that will do e...

Re: Sneaking into Burning Man
I believe 'poor' is a state of mind, and has nothing to do with money. If you believe you are poor (whatever your definition of 'poor' might be) then you are. Traditionally, 'poor' has a tone of little to no income. However, when you have such a vast amount of people attending the event, traditional...

Re: Sneaking into Burning Man
I think you're on to something here...there should be a means test to even buy tickets. If you don't make at LEAST $250,000.00 you can't even buy a ticket. And if you don't earn over $1,000,000.00 you have to camp in the boonies beyond G and can't even attend the burn, which of course will have res...

Thank you Illy Dilly for understanding where i went with my post. As for Dusthand, the tickets wouldn't be 210 if, like I stated, were a hundred dollars cheaper, hmm. let's see. 210 - 100 = .... Re: Sneaking into Burning Man
I for one appreciate the cost of burning man being as high as it is. Think about it, if the tickets were just a hundred bucks cheaper, it would open more doors for the 'less civilized' to enter. And by 'less civilized', I mean people who only care about themselves, and don't participate or enjoy wha...

yes, this virgin WILL be attending this year! I joined right out of high school, and was in for 8 years. Rites of Passage is just f...
