VP's went up to $100.

Some nice changes in policies that will undoubtedly piss off some people but I think it will help.

Re: Ideating a meal prep service for BM 2019

C'mon guys, lighten up a bit. You can't really blame him for trying to make some money off this event. Lots of people/entities make money from it. The government does it, the cops do it, lots of camps do it. There are bike rental people that do it, trash services, portapotty services, BMORG, you get...

A first year art project can be done but I'd have to agree with Ratty and use your first year to figure it all out and then come back for your second year with guns a blazin'. The amount of distractions, activity, and sensory overload is astonishing your first year and there really is no way to prep...

You should see this place during the burn when all the mods are gone. The spam level is insane!

Right now is probably the slowest time but sometimes an early researcher will post something interesting.

I've been talking to Bounce and Flutter, They've lost everything as have their families. They all lived in Paradise. They're all ok but all they have is the shirts on their backs. Literally........  Bounce is currently looking for an RV they can rent, he has secured a space with hookups.

Re: Culture - Camps - Placement

I don't have a problem with people/camps having more money than me. If you want to bring out your million dollar RV's and have lavish accommodations, then by all means as long as you do it yourself. What I take issue with is hiring a crew to do it all for you. That is commodification. If these uber ...

That first stage stabilizer thing is pretty cool. Keeps the lag straight while getting it started.

I had 5 bars of LTE service Friday of build week and I used it to coordinate the setup crew and other people coming in. Re: cooling your tent or van

I went with a 250 CFM fan this year and had great results although the temps weren't too bad. I didn't really need to use it much. The bigger fan draws 3 amps on it's own but I didn't have any problems with my 3 year old marine battery and a 25 watt solar panel keeping it charged. I did take one aft...

Re: 2018 Exodus / Traffic, stories

I left Tuesday about 1:30pm and only had a 30 min wait to hit pavement. Everything was smooth through Gerlach and then we hit the backup caused by the fire on 447. That took about 3 hours to get through and when we finally got to the scene of the fire, it had been caused by an RV that had lost it's ...

Does anyone know why the rest stops were closed? I shudder to think it was because the burners are so messy. Rest stops are NOT a trash dump.
They were closed due to the fires in that area. Several off-ramps along there were closed as well.

Re: Shake-down on the Rezs?

There are plenty of laws to keep LE from stepping on our rights but in the field, the cops don't care about the law or whether your case gets dismissed or not. They routinely break the law all the time and you cannot argue law with a cop on the side of the road. If you get pulled over, valid reason ...

You can always go with a thicker (smaller gauge) wire. It's going to a thinner (larger gauge) wire that can cause issues.

Going from 14 gauge to 12 gauge will be fine.
