Re: Prepping for main sale melee.Browser preference? Smartph

I used my phone while I was at work last year and had no issue. I didn't get a ticket from the main sale, but had the same experience as other people that used their computers. It all comes down to preference.

Google Maps

Looked at Google maps the other day, The route to Black Rock City will not take the 34 from Gerlach. Even going from Gerlach to BRC it goes almost 4 hours north around the mountains. Anyone have an idea why?

Re: This Tent Mahal good for anything?

My first year (2011) I brought a tent like that, 50% net, I didn't sew or tape the fly at all and didn't have much problem with dust. I just throw a cover sheet over my bed after I get up to keep it semi clean. It wasn't a windy year so that could be why I didn't have any issue, but these bigger ten...

Re: What's the single best thing you've worn on the playa?

As DAB said, my Kilt is #1, Its what I wear 90% of the time. Assless chaps are probably #2. Then my pirate hat would be #3, Brought it as a last minute grab out the door one year and it is my favorite hat now for burns.

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition

Damn was that drive longer than I remember. Gonna take a nap at the Walmart in Fernley do some shopping and head in. Save travels everyone! If anyone goes 395, I didn't have any issues. Pulled over once almost out of bishop for a tail light out that went out as I was leaving the driveway. Since i al...

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition

Well, so much for taking a nap. Had to drive over to my uncles house to pick up a baby generator for my parents since they dont see the need to haul the huge one that barely gets used. Finished packing, time to take a shower and start driving. See you all in the dust!

Drive in, Find an open spot, ask the people near the spot if its available and start setting up. That late in the week you shouldn't have any issues, just ask before setting up in a seemingly available spot.

Re: The Car Thread

Its back together. Didn't have time before dark to screw with it more than finishing assembling. Started it up and didn't sound much different, but I only ran it for 30 seconds or so to make sure it ran. Will fuck with it tomorrow. Pretty much decided that I'm not driving it. I have to start actual ...

New lifters, new cam, all plugs in position. good oil pressure, just not getting to the top end. Hopefully soaking the lifters over night solves the problem, Will find out after work today and let you all know.

Re: The Car Thread

Well, the intake is off again, Dads friend that runs a shop says to soak the lifters in oil over night and put them back in and it should be just fine. Thinks that even though we pumped them they aren't full of oil so we aren't getting full lift on the valves which wont let it idle or pump oil all t...
