Re: Secure Ticket Exchange Program (STEP)
Because I work with website every single day, and know most of the software they are using. At one point I was going to build the new Burning Man website but I didn't live close enough to get on the team.

Re: Secure Ticket Exchange Program (STEP)
Did you read a thing I said man...? I was saying that I want the lottery system. But if I can't have it, can we do some work on making everyone have fair chance, because 12 noon is apparently not the real time these thing keep opening up. It seems to be a bit sooner. Looking at this post we're looki...

Re: Secure Ticket Exchange Program (STEP)
I would really like to know why we have to do this rat race at noon BS. All I want, is to put my name in a hat, and if I get lucky, I get lucky. I'm tired of trying to compare the Burning Man Server time to my time, and figuring out when the gates really do open. I feel like this goes against what B...

Not compensating, I just like to off-road and h3 with locking axles was 1/3 less than a four door Rubicon of the same year.Simon of the Playa wrote:but, go for it, whatever you're compensating for with the hummer could be made up for with stories of a great adventure.

I keep hearing the your going to get stuck part... and maybe I have under sold my knowledge of driving off-road too much, which I like to do, but I'm not worried about getting stuck.

That's what I figure, just thought I would add a bit more fun if I could and have the benefit of avoid getting in line as long as I can.TT120 wrote:f worse comes to worse, you could just stay on Jungo till it hits 447 and join the fun in line at Gerlach.

Re: Jungo Road <- Not the Usual Question
I'm not sure how far south the closure area goes, but I really don't think that south of the event is the way to go. Too much crap going on... I would be 3.5 miles south of the restricted area as long as the map is correct. just be really sure, you are well outside the closure. It's not worth the t...

Re: Jungo Road <- Not the Usual Question
The south end of the Playa by Gerlach can still be moist even this late in the summer. Don't try driving across the wet Playa or you will get stuck. It's also moist around the Frog Pond. It can be done, just watch where you're going. There is a place you can cross the tracks, sorta. A little ways n...

Hmm. Been studying the map, and it seems that It maybe better to cross over Playa to the south, because of the very few entrances up north of it. NO JOKE. My friend Tonya and I took Jungo Road in a 4 door sedan one pitch black night in 2001. It looked shorter on the map. :D But we had to go slow, and we couldn't see the beauty of the place, just the blackness and the claustrophobic, creeping shrubs . . . 136 rabbits attempted suicide...

Jungo Road <- Not the Usual Question
Last year my brother and I went to Burning Man and had some time to kill and figured that we should take Jungo Road. Being an avid enthusiast of driving off-road, and having driven the road now, I thought the short cut was well worth it. I drove the road relative fast with no problems, and saved fou...
