Want Fractalized Tattoos (LA area)

I have a couple, and have been wanting more. Problem is deciding exactly what, and then trusting some other artist to put it in me (and they co$t). The angel on my arm didn't come out quite as I envisioned and think its thwarted me a bit. Anyway, I realized that the type of art displayed in the frac...

Re: 12 volt amp and bookshelf speakers

I made a music backpack for bike rides using Logitech computer speakers. Power came from 18v cordless drill battery. On the original battery it would play at full, or close to, volume for just over two hours (and they get effing loud). On a lithium ion drill batt was almost four hours. "But that's n...

Re: Bicycle prep. and maint.

Good tips. Thanks. I should stop by and visit. I used some of the "dry" type chain lube and seemed to work well. Check your local bike shop. I don't remember brand right now. It's like a wax based lube that sets up after application and leaves the chain feeling almost completely dry and clean. Dust ...

Re: Is it raining in Black Rock?

Glad this sparked such a nice discussion. Of course in my dreams it would rain enough to flatten and smooth everything out and then dry nice and hard and solid. (who doesn't want a smooth, hard solid one?) But more realistically I'm hoping for heat, dust, ruts, whiteouts and sporadic thunderstorms. ...

Is it raining in Black Rock?

Wowzer I just looked at radar in that area and it shows storms that are almost over brc! It's hard to tell on wunderground's Map and won't load animation so not even sure which it's headed.
Somebody hop on the Hamm radio and give em shout aye?

Re: Anyone use a product called "salt-away"

Ok. But maybe I didn't make my ultimate goal clear- to spray something on car that will leave some kind of barrier or film so the playa dust sticks to it, not metal, and can then be more easily washed off. I thought of even something like armourall, wd-40, tire shine or something like that. Have you...

Anyone use a product called "salt-away"

I heard through a friend who goes out with land speed racers at Bonneville and El Mirage that almost everyone uses Salt-Away. I checked out their website just now and they sure make it sound great. It's a spray that both cleans off salt and leaves a protective barrier so it doesn't stick and get a c...

There's always someone to find negatives about wherever you want to go. Damn skeptics. I moved from central Oklahoma(bleh capital) 6 years ago to Los Angeles and loved it right away. From the barrio in Boyle Heights (only white couple around!) to Armo- ville in Glendale. Now live on outskirts- Altad...

Yes! I'm with you! Techno is ok, but live music performed by humans (or other critters) on instruments is what impresses and moves me. I would love to help build stuff but LA is far from Denver. Keep us all posted and maybe we'll land nearby. Hair of the Dog was great, but more non-techno options ar...

No responses yet? I'm driving from Altadena with a pickup. We are leaving Sunday afternoon. The truck will be full with bikes strapped on top of yurt, above cab height. One more bike should be ok, but I don't know how big a djembe is. I could try to help, but no promises at this point. No room for o...

Hey there, I'm almost done with my custom swamp cooler. Should be awesome. I used a swamp cooler for a season in my house and read through all these DIY articles on bucket and box units. Then I decided to build this. It's a 34" plastic storage chest with car heater/ac fan. A lot of learning involved...

Well, don't think I'll be sharing pics on forums anymore. I started on tumblr and it's easy enough to upload pics but can't figure out how to share them. Can't figure out much of anything on it and doesn't have a "?" with instructions for dummies. Oh well.

No that does not work from iPhone. Not quite a computer. I went on Saturday and forgot it at home. It was great. I didn't even know what time it was. Can't wait to go to black rock city and just be lost and float around.

Thanks trilobyte. I'll check out tumblr. Ha ha ha! I just randomly spit out fingerpuppets.com, having no idea. So then I went to it, and it's awesome! Kids finger puppets! Plus plans to make your own! Some sparkle camel riders should have fingerpuppets with blinky flashy lights!
But they don't host pics.

Hello! I just received a "sunjet 150" solar fountain pump from amazon. This is supposed to flow 40 gph max, which I thought sounded pretty good.
