Re: Main Sale Ticket Success?!

Yeah, it really was. Can we go back to the way it was last year? at least that way I only waste 40 min of my day before I get disappointed.

My favorite part is the "unexpected technical difficulties".
Guess the expected technical difficulties weren't the problem...

That shouldn't be too hard. I'm willing to bet I can dig up a couple hundred feet of old hemp rope for the net.

So in terms of netting, should I just start making one big honking piece? What would be a good width? 10', 15?

Re: The Pier 2

You had mentioned previously about the crew either dying of thirst or being integrated into the BRC population. Does the shipwreck have a supernatural aspect? You could crank out some blacklight cannon and fire shots of UV into the crow to "Reveal" the long-dead members masquerading as citizens. Bla...

There was day when MOOP not problem.

Was good time. Much sun. Bolsheviks play in field. No mine.

Cars drive on Playa, fast as they want.

Now is different. blinkenlight and boomy wub-wub. Gone are days of fast drive
Sun has met quota. Now is cold. You have potato?

Re: How to Approach a Bar?

My experience from my first burn (this year), was that any bar you like will always gladly accept a donation of Ice. Sometimes it gets you a lap dance*

(* results not typical, no guarantee of lap dance upon ice delivery. If rash developes, discontinue use and have another beer.)

Re: 2011 MOOP Map Live

It might not be MOOP that got you the yellow. It could have been playa scars from tires or dumping water that left a scar, etc. It wasn't until we found out about these types of things from the Earth Guardians that we started getting green consistently. well, I parked the van on carpet samples, but...

I do remember that. We made it by friday night, and the place was fairly packed. They'd gotten tired of bartending, so it was just byob/make your own drink (everything was on the bar). It was a pretty good time. A big thank you to whoever set that place up!

I am ashamed to admit that my camp is in the yellow. I MOOPed pretty thoroughly the day before I left, and then did another 30 mins before we headed out. Thought I got everything. I monday morning, though, and had many camp mates who weren't leaving until tuesday. I guess that's further reason to st...

Yeah, we told him to stop, but apparently he didn't listen. Too bad, as he helped us come up with the idea for the block party. Last I saw,he was being walked back to his camp by someone LEO-based. Didn't see him again for the rest of the burn. Either he calmed down and they didn't arrest him, or he...

Re: TERMINAL CITY is the new Center Camp !

I, too, wanted to stop by and say hello, However, on the day I came past I had to compete in a sling-shot competition up the street, and on the return trip, I'll admit it, I lost my nerve. Seemed a laid-back time of day, and not the right time to come in and say hello.

The most apparent thing I learned this year (aka my royal virgin facepalm moment): Bring a cup with you, WHEREVER YOU GO!
