Correct. I captured, skinned and tanned a family of Yeti. The tricky part is keeping the blood off of the white fur.trilobyte wrote:That looks like a standard white yeti fur.
In all seriousness...my buddy ordered the fur online...I will see if I can locate the vendor he used.

Re: Building an LED / Faux Fur Coat
Yeti fur, for example, may partially or completely obscure some of the lights if it mats down over them. Trilobyte makes a good point...when I was testing the fur with holes, I noticed that the fur could obscure one of the tiny RGB LEDs, say just the red, etc. Depending upon the color being made at...

Re: Building an LED / Faux Fur Coat
The two coats I made were white, so the lights shine right through. Not sure how it would work with darker fur...we chose white specifically for the LEDs. My original plan was to make holes, but there were SO many LEDs, I would still be making the coats. Testing is the best way to know. I used a scr...

It was a bit warmer at night than if I created the weather myself...the LED Faux Fur coats worked well, but were rather warm, even well into the early morning hours.
Other than that, no complaints! Loved it all.

Re: AMBER Alert abuse
As a point of clarification, Amber Alerts are a part of State EAS plans, and it's primary focus is that of broadcasters (radio, TV and Cable). There are some active highway signs that are part of the system, and police are notified of an alert, but it is directly related to an EAS alert on broadcast...

Re: HELP! RGB LED ribbon controller advice
I have that exact controller for a different led project I did a while back. I have ordered controllers and strips from 2 different vendors, and the one big difference I have discovered is that some strips are common anode, and some are common cathode. Meaning, on some strips, the black, or common w...

OK, the coats are in the hands of UPS. Nothing more to do. Great comments here...hopefully you can make one tough decision now, so your Burn will be enjoyable.

I'm a tech nerd, but dumb it down for the burn. iPhone 4 gets shut off, never turned on, and never leaves the RV. IPad MAY get used n RV to kill time. (risk is fun.) Laptop with 18,000 songs goes. Use acronis to image drive before I go, just in case. Plays music in RV. New waterproof Coleman camera,...

I was more active on the eplaya last year, but i slept thru the meet and greet.
Hoping to make it this year. Planning to bring Fireball cinnamon whiskey, if I can pull it together.
I'm so easily distracted.

The page seems to have conflicting information. In one spot, it says: 1.)VERY IMPORTANT: Supply voltage for Controller is 5 Volts DC, power with included 12VDC Power Supply, do not exceed Wha? Is it 12 or 5 volts? Then in the Specifications chart it says: Operating Voltage: 5 Volts DC OK, so 5 volts...

Re: How to handle RV insurance? Big problem
Had this problem in 2010. 4 of us went, only one could get insurance. No one else's insurance would provide the "binder" on an RV. I think he had State Farm. I'm with GEICO (for a long time, and several cars, ATV, motorcycle...) and they told me no way on a rental RV. He had to do all of the driving...
