Osiris Needs a Few More Campers

Folks in Reno are prepping the giant pyramid and upgraded pharaoh booth for more playa shaking beats this month. We're still looking for a few more campers this year to help make everything come to life. If you're interested in taking a trip through sound world and want to camp at 10 & Esplanade...

Don't waste time or precious water on your hair. Allow the dust and wind to do as it will. By Thursday it will look pretty f'n awesome. People will ask if it's a wig.

Re: So i will be pregnant for the burn...

I took my daughter's mother to our first burn when she was a little over six months pregnant. It was a wonderful experience the three of us wouldn't trade for anything. Are there risks? Of course, but there are risks in anything you do at any time and the possibility of the unlikely is always presen...

Re: I'm in S T E P

Welcome welcome. Wanted to offer you folks some hope to push away those ticket blues. As we prepare to welcome our new stepbrothers and sisters to the ranks of black rock's somewhat loved bastage children it is important for you to remember where things stand at this early hour. Tickets are unsent, ...

Re: Low income debate

One of the many positive things about the low income ticket program is that it at least partially insulates Burning Man from being considered merely an elite vacation destination. Some people who get low income tickets might possibly be able to scrape by and buy a regular priced ticket, but that wo...

Closed out a retirement account, since the career path has collapsed, worth $440 after taxes figuring that would be plenty for a ticket. Will be rather disgusted if it's not. though personally I think "low income" tix are absurd. Fairly upset that the gentrification of black rock continues...

Re: Interesting article about Burning Man Census

I'd trust the results. There's a question in there to see who's reading. Couldn't imagine a better way of gathering thoughts from burners than a random box of papers and pens honestly. Sample size is the question. I fill it out one morning at 3 or 4 am at the end of the week after being up for a cou...

Re: EZ Up Canopies

I have seen many fail. That said, I have one that has lasted four burns, and I still occasionally use it on regular camping trips. The key is reinforcement. This is right. The way I made ours survive the first time around (and the wind was only really bad maybe two days with nothing overly extreme)...

Re: Does the Dust Ruin Clothes?

My sister (who lives near the burn) just called me up and yelled that if I was going to collapse in her bed again after returning from black rock I'd better shower first or else. Apparently there's still dust all over her room from a year ago. I laughed and told her she was welcome for bringing the ...

Will a will call booth be set up somewhere we can walk to?

After watching the long, long line of cars waiting for will call the last two years I'm curious if anything is going to be done this year with the presumably much larger amount of will call tickets. The one thought I had was setting up a booth somewhere toward the front of the line before the people...

Ticket prices have climbed $90 in two years for the highest tier and I doubt there'll be any more water trucks or porta-crappers than incremental increases based on larger populations. This isn't cheap as it is for something that once involved showing up. Continuing to turn this event into an occasi...

they'll simply support the secondary market aka scalpers. when money's not an object who cares how much the ticket costs? i doubt any of the 10,000 are going to these radically other reliant camps or else it's time for all of us to bail on this whole thing.
