Re: cooling your tent or van
I don't do solar. This is the only solar fan that I think was mentioned, but it is a wonderful fan. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200514348_200514348 The solar pump from HF is just barely good enough under ideal conditions. I don't think you can do a descent cooling set up for $60....

Re: cooling your tent or van (Solar Fans)
Dear Figjam, After 4 years on the Playa, I am attempting to build your solar evaporative cooler. I swear when I saw this the first time, there was a solar pump (which I have located as well as a solar fan. So is it totally independant and runs just on solar? (Solar afr and solar pump?. Is this true?...

Re: Vehicle Passes and Burning Man Traffic Issues
Is D lot first in last out or last in first out? I've seen both stated with much emphasis. I want to believe it's last in first out to "punish" the earliest arrivers. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:  Maybe he meant FIFO or LIFO...First in Last Out or Last in First Out!...As long as it is not FINO ...

Re: Vehicle Passes and Burning Man Traffic Issues
1. What time should we plan on getting into Ingress? 6 AM Sunday? 8 AM Sunday? Saturday night? And if we are unable to get into line at 6 AM Sunday, if there somewhere I can park late late Saturday or early early Sunday that is OK? Plan on two hours from Reno (though it will probably be longer) - I...

Re: Vehicle Passes and Burning Man Traffic Issues
Hello, I read this blog, searched it and I still have 2 questions. Before I start, I have tickets and a vehicle pass. In the past 4 burns , we have arrived on Monday noon after spending the night in Reno. We live in the low desert of Southn Cal, so it is more than a day drive. That said, we want to ...

Re: Did you ever have a hard time boarding an Art Car?
... I view Mv's as a wonderful thing to SEE. My bike is usually better transport. This pretty much sums up my view, but I ride my bike a lot when not on the playa, so I've very comfortable with it. Urban, would a tricycle be a tenable solution to help with vertigo? Certainly would be for both of us...

Re: Did you ever have a hard time boarding an Art Car?
Thank You all for your replies Maybe it will be better this year. We have taken bikes but with my Vertigo and my cane, it is hard to start and hard to stop but going is great! Actually, that is a guarantee that we will not jump on before it stops and jump off before it stops! I look helpless and pat...

Re: Did you ever have a hard time boarding an Art Car?
I'm giving this a nudge over to Experiences At Burning Man, since that's a better fit. To answer the question, no I haven't had any real trouble getting rides aboard art cars. Of course, I try to use a bit of common sense. I don't try to flag down or stop vehicles that are already moving, I don't a...

In addition to water, single-ply tp, lights and vinegar, I may have to attend "Cool-School." That could be my solution!

Did you ever have a hard time boarding an Art Car?
I saw someone post this morning seeking kickstarter funds for an Art car. Good Luck and a fine donation. However Cuppa Joe Martínez Morín noted" I thought you had to have boobs to ride on an art car. I've ridden probably like five art cars in the five years I've been to the Playa." I have faced the ...

Morning, I have talked 2/3 or my sons to come to the Playa with us this year 2014. Even though I have not worked since 2013 (health issues) we bought our tickets through the main sale. He wants to go but as an unemployed student, (getting no unemployment thank you Congress) and a Vet, he probably qu...

No no, doesn't matter at all. I was curious. My future Camp dreams were taking my thoughts over. I think these were private.

Hi 2013 Attendees, Our Camp, Camp Serendipity gave out 14 dozen home baked cookies, sticky buns, gallons of iced tea and tons of cool cargo. Our address was 7:15 and Interstellar. My question. When we would walk to the porta potties on 7 and interstellar, (thanks to the camo that adopted those porta...

Papa Urban Says: August 3rd, 2013 at 4:39 pm Hi, At our little camp (4 people), we are going to have some tea and coffee, cookies and sticky buns on one morning, but I will be surprised if we have more than 20-30 eating a cookie or drinking tea or coffee. It will be more like something we set up for...

You could buy your stuff on ebay, or inexpensive camp websites, tent, bags, water bottles, camp stove , tarp, rope whatever you can't carry, and have it dropped shipped to someplace nearby or with someone who will bring it to BM. rent the little car, set up camp. drop it off at goodwill on the way h...
