want to borrow a tent, dome, hexayurt or whatnot??

Getting to the Playa from Australia this year is maxing me out financially.... does anyone have a spare tent, dome, hexayurt, or other sleeping fortress that they can loan a fellow burner for the burn this year?? I'm getting to the playa early to help set up our camp in the Nectar Village, and thoug...

Re: Rideshare from... Oz??

So, you want someone to buy you flight tickets? From Sydney to Reno? Unless someone has a private jet, I am not sure what "ride share" means. Actually, yes, I'm hoping someone has a private jet (or a boat, I'd be cool with spending a month at sea) that they'd be willing to share... someone offered ...

Re: Rideshare from... Oz??

Yeah, as I mentioned, I know it's an extremely long stretch... But hey, miracles happen. Can't find someone if we don't put ourselves out there in the first place :). Heh so if you know any Aussies with an extra two seats, direct them my way! (or pray that tickets to America will magically drop to $...

Rideshare from... Oz??

Hello playa mates, This is probably the longest shot ever, but I'll give it a go anyway: My partner and I are looking for a ride to the playa from Sydney (or really, anywhere in Australia, as it's far cheaper for us to get around on our continent). On your plane, boat, personal teleportation device....

Re: Next year's theme?

They can't just shut down burning man, I mean we'd all just show up in the desert anyways, right? with the addition of bringing our own porta potties alongside all the food and water. could they give 50,000 people citations or tickets?

NYC Burners?

There's gotta be at least a few out there... this was my first burn, and i went alone. Now i've gotten home, and my friends just don't get it... I want to hang out with you and reminisce! or talk about next year... or whatever. What's going on in NYC? there's gotta be something, right?

Re: dropping out

BM only gives the semblance of complete altruism. At its core, however, the altruistic BM experience is only possible because virtually everything is paid for in advance so there's rarely much that connects one's current action with "cost," time or money. Jaytro4, nobody goes "off grid" except chil...

Re: dropping out

I guess I'm looking for an off the grid community, sort of... I just don't want to deal with money anymore. BB had it right, I've had a pretty easy life, I went to a high school that puff daddy looked at when he was sending his nephew somewhere... however, the kids around me (many with multimilliona...

dropping out

Hi I went to Burning Man for the first time this year, and given my experience, thought that maybe this might be the only place I can talk about this... I'm kinda desperate. I made a very stupid mistake and read a lot of Daniel Quinn while growing up: Ishmael, My Ishmael, the Story of B, etc. These ...

Re: Next year's theme?

This is what? Third thread on the topic? my apologies, I did a search and only found an argument about how they usually announce the next theme right after the man burns... This was more a post that was meant to inspire people to suggest ideas. Clearly I didn't look as deeply as you do into prior f...

Re: virgin burner from NY (and sort of Australia?)

Now i'm dealing with trying to not become a playa preacher to all my friends... it's sad realizing that some of the people you spend time with would just want to be tourists, and shouldn't be encouraged to attend because they wouldn't come at it in the right spirit... it's definitely making me rethi...

Next year's theme?

So... does anyone know what next year's theme is going to be? I'm hoping, given the state of the world, for APOCALYPSE!!!

But maybe that's too easy. Thoughts?

Re: virgin burner from NY (and sort of Australia?)

I had the most incredible experience on the playa... an incredible camp, lots of great workshops, gifts given and received alike, early entry to the playa, helping open the temple, and a playa nickname! So much love to everyone who was there. I am immensely grateful, my virgin burn was fully partici...

Hey all, my mother is convinced that if I take a ride from the airport to burning man, the person going is going to rape me. does anyone know statistics of sexual assault, theft, and other crime at Burning Man? Foodie looking for theme camp?

Hi guys, I'm a virgin and I love to cook, and was hoping there might be a theme camp built up around cooking delicious food? looking through last year's theme camp list, I haven't seen much (just a lot about fine homebrews and alcohol), but does anyone know of a theme camp that already exists around...

virgin burner from NY (and sort of Australia?)

Hey, so I'm from NY but have been living in Australia for the past two and a half years and got into the festival scene there, just came home to sort out some visa stuff and realized I was going to be here while burning man is on, so I bought my ticket, all excited, and then realized I don't have fr...
