Re: Most fantastic theme idea EVER!

A traditional culturally embedded rite of passage marked a transition to a new stage of life. The old individual 'died' and was born anew, often taking a new name. It feels like a perfect theme for a world which needs a marker between an old, perhaps arguably irresponsible way of being, and a new id...

Re: Most fantastic theme idea EVER!

Speaking as a Virgin - and also with some experience in creating ritual passages for people over the course of the past 10 years, - the RITE OF PASSAGE theme really does resonate for me. quite profoundly actually. It is kind of interesting to see some (not all) veteran burners sort of so-so about it...

Juxtaposed with that avatar, Grai, it makes you look like you're going to find him and beat him savagely.

Call to Lone Virgins-Meeting online

Headed out to the Playa on my own this year. Love being a Virgin again. I've got a pretty cool base camp that seems to be coming together on my end. (16 X 30 community shade structure so far) with some character. (peaceful, serene intent) Depending on packing limitations base camp comes with variety...

Re: Virgin Arrival Gerlach to the Gate Questions

Thanks Eric - thats what Im trying to do. Figure out what has kind of been established over the years as acceptable or not. Im sure i'll step in a few piles of "OOPS didnt mean to do that" - along the way, but trying to not be a blatant NEWB.

Virgin Arrival Gerlach to the Gate Questions

I've tried to gleen as much insight through these threads about what to expect for arrival process through Gerlach to the gate - but not grasping it yet. I've got nothing better to do then just get to Gerlach as early as Sunrise Sunday morning. How early are you allowed to drive towards the gate to ...

Re: I'm a Virgin!! *again* YAHOOOO

@CarlyJean - I think you can be as prepared as much as we can - but never fully ready for what may take place. My life motto has always been to plan as best i can for all contingencies....let all the dreams come and be real imagined possibilities....then let everything go without expectations. No ma...

dang it....i already love you guys. : - ) I've seen the map - was just wondering if any of the theme sites were actually listed on the map... i dont see that anywhere. What I was hoping to avoid was parking right next to the "Loudest Nightclub on the Planet at Night" theme camp. From what ive seen, ...

Re: I'm a Virgin!! *again* YAHOOOO

Going solo appeals. Thanks Savanah. Now it will be about finding the right general area. First intuition is leading me somewhere along Initiation and Journey 730-9:00. Radar is pinging in that area for now. Not sure why. Cant seem to find anything that ID's where a theme camp may already claim land ...

Re: I'm a Virgin!! *again* YAHOOOO

Hi illy dilly - Everyday is filled with Planning. Every night is filled with Playa dreams. Seriously - is this what happens with Burning man first timers? Im sensitive to "the vibes" out there anyway - but this experience thus far headed into Burning Man is very different. No plans to camp within a ...

Re: I'm a Virgin!! *again* YAHOOOO

Yes - how bout this selling out thing this year? Kind of Crazy. What is that Grand Total magic cut off number? 60K? One could speculate and create all kinds of scenarios that will play themselves out along the way with this new development of ticketless Vet burners and left out newbies. From my virg...

Im here to tell you - when i heard that little muse voice whisper "go to burning man" in my ear last week...it came with goosebumps, ...
