Placement’s Neighborhood & Interactivity Feedback Form
Placement’s Neighborhood & Interactivity Feedback Form helps us get a better picture of how camps throughout BRC did this year so we can make better choices for placement next year. Please share this widely with your friends and campmates. Did you camp in Black Rock City this year? How was your neig...

Placement Pendant
Hi there, My 2013 Placement Pendant slipped off its chain sometime after Man Burn. It's about the diameter of a quarter. Blue background with faded (as in yellowish) looking man symbol and lotus petal design of the city below the man. Above the man it says PLACEMENT. Would love it back since they di...

Re: 2012 Experiences with Police
They said that they think a virgin camper had said something "bad" to a "hot" undercover cop who then lead a cavalry of officers into their camp. Something really similar happened at my camp, but the Police only pulled out the RV. Our Theme Camp got to keep going all week; however, the Sheriffs dro...

Re: Plug & Play Camping
After making an inquiry about a theme camp RAFFLING a BM2012 TICKET to raise funds, I discover this is actually a tradition with some camps who have been doing it for years. This particular ticket being raffled was not obtained via the Directed Allotment. How does anyone feel about raffling tickets...

clearly a problem with this whole thing is the whole thing we see on the roadways... and in life in general "IM NOT THE ASSHOLE... THAT OTHER GUY IS!!! Re: Plug & Play Camping
Regardless of the fact that PnP's are kind of annoying in what they represent, they are a type of business that has evolved from burners, to support burners because of Burning Man. More reason to bring them into the fold instead of going on an exclusivity witch hunt. This, and the request of Papabe...

Re: Plug & Play Camping
Had an interesting (drunken) conversation with a PnPer that camped with us last year. He was super last minute, a buddy of his was camping with us and asked to have him on board. We still hadn't reached our maximum so we said sure, it'll be this much in camp dues, and he joined up. I honestly barely...

First, I think Lemur and BBadger are both doing an excellent job of pulling up the details of this discussion. I tend to agree with things both of you are saying, maybe because you're both good at analysis of details, maybe because this issue contains so many grey areas. What I want to examine in th...

Re: Plug & Play Camping
Slightly back on track: One thought I've been putting through the stone tumbler is about the size of camps. The Theme Camp I run averages around 60 people each year. We struggle with aspects of all those people getting to know each other, sometimes even recognizing faces. I've never camped with over...

Re: Plug & Play Camping
Janus, Do you really NEED air conditioning? Can you figure out a way to power your pimp house without a generator? I've never NEEDED, or used, air conditioning or a power line for my personal little pimp structure in the back of our theme camp. Maybe you have a medical condition, I won't begrudge t...

Janus, It's nice to hear your response and most of what you're saying certainly makes sense. I could pick apart some other sections, but will leave that to others. The one that made me react though was this: This year, I’m going back to the tent to experiment with this idea. But that will take WAY m...

I was shown this video last summer by someone who was part of the build crew and catering for this camp. I don't know anyone but her and I'm going to refrain from making my own comments about it for the time being. I do think it's a fitting video for this discussion. [vimeo]http://vimeo.com/15346851...

Galaxo Magic, Mostly I want to respond because you're the second person to change my name to PapaBear2010. It's not a typo, it's the address of my home. 2120 is one of those houses that turns into a killer venue once a year or so when we throw large scale events at it. Been doing it for years and it...

Lemur, followed your posts to see that DISTRIKT already posted something similar under the ticket threads discussion.
Anywho, I'll leave this up unless trylobyte want's to delete, which I won't be offended by.

Is Your Theme Camp Now Missing Most of its Members?
There's a lot of talk on the ticketing forum about how many theme camps have 40-90% of their members without tickets. The STEP program hasn't taken place yet, so this might be a little preemptive, but I'm curious to see how many established theme camps are now unable to do their camp. I'm out of Eug...
