Re: Cell towers. Anybody heard....
This is probably posted too late to be helpful, but in 2010, I got a 2-bar signal on my Verizon phone. I didn't try to make any calls, though, so I can't say whether it works well, or not...

Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
I laughed at your post, too...it's a bunch of stoned desert rat-bureaucrats...and they have my money!

Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
It is now mid-July...no ticket, no notification, no nothing, except for the charge on my credit card, six months ago... 47 days until the event begins, and I still don't have my ticket in hand. I have preparations to make, that will require serious financial expenditure (need to buy $1200 worth of t...

Re: Have not received tickets yet. Have you?
Nope. No email notification, no nothing...starting to get concerned...can't begin to plan for an event that I am not certain I will be admitted to...may not be going, after all.

Re: Lets start talking about how to fix this
I support the idea of making the low-income tickets non-transferable, but not for ALL tickets. Every year, people buy tickets, and then find out they can't make the trip for whatever reason, and every year, people who want tickets miss out on buying them through the regular channel. It is only reaso...

Re: Official "Awarded Tickets" Thread
I bid low...after last year's ticketing debacle, and reading all the "you snooze, you lose" commentary on these boards, I was prepared to give up on Burning Man, for good, if I didn't get a cheap ticket this year. Apparently, my order is being filled, at $390...wtf?! Every time I think I'm out, they...

Re: Lets start talking about how to fix this
@brnr96 - so, death by 100 cuts? Demand still outstrips supply. And assuming your method sells each day's allotment via unrestricted open sale, it's 100 days of opportunity for scalpers to get their unfair share. @Saigonborg - based on the results, it appears that the event would have sold complete...

Re: Lets start talking about how to fix this
Here is a re-post, of the system I proposed last fall: Say we have 50,000 tickets to sell. We designate a sales period that lasts 100 days, ending one month before the event...simple division tells us that this means a maximum of 500 tickets can be sold, each day of the sales period. Tiered pricing ...

Here is how to do it: Say we have 50,000 tickets to sell. We designate a sales period that lasts 100 days, ending one month before the event...simple math tell us that this means a maximum of 500 tickets can be sold, each day of the sales period. Tiered pricing can be implemented, such that a certa...
