55 gallon water drum is gone.

Obtainium still available!
This stuff is all still available... I'll give it a few more days for some burner to snag, but then it's off to the vultures that haunt the 'frre' category at Craigslist...

55 gallon water drum, bike, vinyl and banners
Several obtainium items up for grabs, located in Spring Valley, CA (San Diego suburb.) Blue plastic water drum, has a hose bib installed (gravity fed.) It was my water supply on playa in '05, and been stored since. Playa bike - Diamondback that was once a pretty decent mountain bike. Needs some part...

Genny pricing
Best buy I've found on the EU2000 is at www.alamia.com $875, including delivery. Reportedly excellent customer service from them, as well. They get $1660 for the EU3000, which has (as noted) electric push-button starting. It's pretty bulky, however, and a pair of EU2000's hooked together are a littl...

A friend/client of mine once said to me in wonderment, "You don't just think out of the box, you can't even SEE it from where you are!"theCryptofishist wrote:(...) Funny how it is that they want you to "think outside the box" and "be creative" but they can't really cope wiht what that means. . . (...)

Just another high school popularity contest. . . Yeah - maybe that's why I'm not anyone's buddy list! ::hehehe:: In HS, you have a 'choice' of hanging with the popular crowd, or hanging out with your real friends. They chose me, 'cause I was *way* more fun than the popular kids... And the funniest ...

Yes Grigori. Even I know that it's easier to be a kibbutzer than to put oneself out there. Thank you. I don't take the criticism personally, so have at it! Without someone telling you how *they* think you did something wrong, it's hard to learn and grow. (They try to teach this at good art schools,...

My personaly idea is that the add buddy one is a little banal/derivative. (dang, I shoulda softened that; the d-word is so mean.) And I do like that crossing out the "blah blah blah" a lot. "disallow contact" that I selected is basic and gets the job done. Now corrected for transparency, as well as...

Anyone else getting questions from Belgium? Yep - I told 'em it's all about self-reliance, so in order to understand it, they'll need to write their own paper after doing their own research. Hehehe... (But I point 'em at Google's translator, so they can read the website in German or French, though ...

Re: Another RV quesiton: RV or trailer? Pros & cons?
My solution - Get a cab-over truck camper. That way it's easy to trailer 4 tons of other people's cra.. um... "stuff" out to the Playa. At least that's what I did last year - here's the pic of us enroute: http://www.thinkin3d.com/BM04/images/BM04_Gregori_03.jpg That camper has been sold, but here's ...

I think the deal on "Dust Devils" is over - I got in just under the wire, and received mine the other day. (Haven't seen it yet...) I enjoyed "Beyond Black Rock" but I think it's more of the 'backstory' that people who've been there can relate to. It's a behind the scenes look for people who have se...

Make it say "Hash" if you're so inclined... :) Or do what _I_ did with my camper: take the name off altogether! Then you have a large white canvas and can decorate it however you like... (Which I did long before I knew of BM.) For smooth sided RVs, sign vinyl works GREAT. (Go visit some sign makers ...

Unfortunately no. My sisters have sucked all the fun out of Christmas shopping. They will tell me what it is they want, where they saw it, and the size and color if applicable, or worse send me an email link of the item itself. <<...SNIP...>> Due to this sort of behaviour from my family, I told the...

You might look into helping several burners get out there...
http://www.blackrockburnerhostel.com/
They're in need of MANY empty seats, for those BRC bound.
(Though $100 to get to BRC from Reno seems pretty steep...)
Best of luck!

Try this....
Hook up one of those little bike-light generators that rub on the tire.
Use that to power a small stepper motor that powers your arm-waving guy.
Heck - in a pinch, you could use a battery.
Good luck!

Slightly easier link: http://www.burningman.com/preparation/travel_info/rideshare.html You'll have a choice to ADD a RideShare or SEARCH for one.
