The Otic Oasis Needs Your Help - Just a litle help

At Burning Man 2011, we're colonizing the last quiet space left deep in the walk-in camping area, near the perimeter fence, the first installation permitted in this area -- and building an amazing 35' tall crystalline shelter made entirely of interlocking wood, with no metal connectors or glue. A pl...

Just a little shout out from Peter Hudson about Charon, his 2011 piece for Burning Man. Peter Hudson here, and the greatest joy and passion of my life has been building and presenting large, stroboscopic zoetropes at Burning Man (3D objects that are animated through the use of strobe lights). If you...

THE FINAL SPIN: If you are a fan of Peter's 2007 piece, Homouroboros ("the monkeys") or maybe have never seen it, we are putting together an event on March 31st, in the Bay Area, at which we will be spinning the piece for the last time before taking it down to make room for Charon. Amazon describes "To Burning Man" as a book of poetry so I have not read it.

Eye of the Burning Man is getting good reviews from people who like the guys work but not Burners. think I will wait for the paperback.

I use PMC3 and a Hot Pot, a very small (size of a large coffee can) Kiln for my PMC firing. I use it outside on my steps because it smells chemically when you light it. Google it, easy to find.

Saying No

I am part of an interactive camp, this year Angoraphobia, and I put images of the "man" in some form on t-shirts that people bring with them, usually 600-800 during the week. So I get a lot of gifts....and some of them have been amazing.. I have said yes to all gifts, no to all gifts, discriminated ...

That would be our friend and campmate at the time Papa DJ. That year we were Cleopatra's Barge on the outer circle of center camp. In 2003 we were DreamCatcher at 6:30 and the Esplanade and last year he was part of Deep Heaven at 4:40 or so and the Esplanade. If you post nearer to the event I will w...

"This is Burning Man"

I just finished "This is Burning Man" by Brian Doherty and I loved it. I have heard complaints that it doesn't include the powerful BM women and that some of the anecdotes are fluffed up to make it more interesting, but I still loved it. It seems to accurately reflect the people that I have met, it ...

My electric scooter

I am an old fat woman with bad knees and have had a scooter at Burning Man for several years. I ride standing and it is great, but the Playa is very hard on scooters.
