Re: 4:30 Neighborhood Camps

Our camp, COHESION, will be at 4:30 / B this year. We'll have 50 ft frontage along 4:30. We plan on building a velcro wall that you can launch yourself onto with a mini trampoline.

We've been along 4:30-ish for the past several years. Maybe you've seen our sign?

Come by and say hi!

Re: What's your opinion of my carport+hexayurt idea?

offarock, that looks great. Good to see that the 10 panel cube has been successfully executed before, and without a windbreak even. Does using the angle iron eliminate the need for tape on those seams? Or do you still have to tape? Thanks for sharing. If I do end up building a similar cube, feel fre...

Re: Buying a carport in Los Angeles?

Funny, I'm in the exact same situation as you, and my name is also Scott K. weird! I also live in LA, and can't seem to get good information from Costco re: their carports. I'm not a member either, so it's not like I can just pop into a costco and see what they have. And I'm also interested in...

What's your opinion of my carport+hexayurt idea?

(I originally wrote this as a direct message to FIGJAM, but would love to get other opinions as well. Please chime in with your thoughts!) Hi FIGJAM... I've been scanning ePlaya for some info re: shelters at BRC, and I've seen your bucket-based solar swamp cooler plans, and some of your posts in oth...

Re: gonna buy a deep cycle battery & inverter. Recommendatio

I ended up buying a 125 amp hr from Walmart for $85. Here's the link: http://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-MAX ... y/16795213

I still have to buy an inverter... I guess I will go by Radio Shack and check em out. Thanks for the advice re: the inline fuse

Re: gonna buy a deep cycle battery & inverter. Recommendatio

>Any recommendations on where to buy an affordable yet capable deep cycle battery? USE FUSES! For a 150 watt inverter (should be all you need for the loads you describe) you're looking at a 15-20 amp fuse, or 2 10 amp fuses (one on each battery.) Connect fuses on the positive side. Thanks for the a...

gonna buy a deep cycle battery & inverter. Recommendations?

:?: Hello! I want to buy a deep cycle battery and an inverter that will be used to power mostly just small personal stuff at camp... LED lights, boombox, etc. I will have a little generator there too that has battery post leads, so I can recharge the battery with the genny if needed. Also going to b...
