Did you get the memo on the desert rats that only eat virgin burners toes? Seems the rats only go after the virgins because the vets are too dried out.

I resemble that remark!

Well....technically, you're not s'posed to bring anything to barter as that is commerce...no diff than bartering cash for something. It's s'posed to be a "gift economy". That being said, there are quite alot of us who love to barter, even if it's just hypocritically disguised as coincidentally gifti...

I believe Scotty's Junction is the road that takes you down to Scotty's Castle in death Valley... a bit of a detour. Never been there. Goldfield is a neat looking town. If you're not rushed, may be a nice place to stop and stretch. There's some sort of little town festival as you drive thru the week...

Booze MIGHT get stolen, but you prolly just gifted it and forgot. Never heard of kitchen stuff getting ripped off. Wallets, generators, stereos, etc.... well... do what you can. Get an extra set of keys and put them behind your license plate (run the license plate screw thru your spare key) that way...

I stopped keeping track...too depressing. Easily the most expensive camping trips we've ever done. Reading this thread makes me feel slightly better though. As other's have mentioned, for some unknown reason, it does NOT get cheaper each year. Best guess is $1500 - 2000 each year for two peeps...com...

Hostel..... Hageymon is one of the best people I've ever met. I get the feeling his house is 24/7 that week...but best to contact him ahead of time and let him know your arrival plans.... I'm sure he and your passenger would love that you can gift someone a ride.

....and on your way.... take a 1/2 hour or 3 and stop for a soak at Bailey's Hot Springs just N of Beatty.... very friendly, burner friendly and it's divine. Numerous AZ Burners split the trip into two days, with Bailey's being the stopping point. You'll meet some real nice folks. Not sure what the ...

Will have to check out Aqua Burn...haven't seen. Thus far, my personal favorite is Paynie's Burn BabyBurn (though he downplayed the dust of 2001). FWIW, there's an EXCELLENT coffee table book/video combo out there called "Drama in the Desert"..... pretty much totally focuses on the art as opposed to...

"...... My understanding is that if all 700 are exceptional, then all 700 will be approved........" hhmmmmm....... judging from discussions on several other BM related boards, "exceptional" is truly a subjective term, determined not merely by the artistic effort put forth, but moreso by how the red-...
