T-storms on Sunday?

Weather Underground reports 50% probability of thunderstorms in Gerlach on Sunday. I'm slightly concerned about setting up my all-metal camp on a flat plain in a lightning storm. Is anybody else concerned? I guess we'll all just play it by ear. Anybody know where to go for more timely BRC weather up...

Community Dinner Suggestions

Greetings dear burners, I'm cooking dinner on Friday for a group of 16 burners, and I'm not satisfied with the ideas I've had so far for meals to cook. What's the best communal dinner you've ever cooked on the playa? I want to solicit your suggestions! Requirements are: - must have vegetarian option...

still waiting for that placement email

My camp still has not heard hide nor hair from the organizers about our camp's placement. Does this mean that the Evil Space Unicorns camp did not get placed this year? Or did we simply get lost in some beauracratic shuffle? I can't seem to find any information about who to contact.

Sadness.

shade structure: EMT, aluminum, or steel pipe?

Ahoy fellow burners, As an alternative to the boring WalMart 10'x20' carport/canopies that we see everywhere, I'm looking at building something slightly more interesting using fittings from creativeshelters.com or mcmaster.com . I was hoping someone could share their experiences with me for differen...

home despot

It turned out that Home Depot Pro had exactly what we wanted, for about 33 cents per foot, cut to almost the size we need (we'll still bisect 100 pieces of rebar this week).

"Never mind, thanks for the help!"

Probably a FAQ: rebar source in bay area

The last item on my to-do list is to purchase rebar for my camp. I just did an inventory, and realize that I need to purchase in excess of 600' of rebar. Yikes! Can someone advise me on an inexpensive, reliable source for bulk rebar? I assume I'll be cutting the bars myself, all night long baby. Tha...

Need ride: BRC to RENO, friday Sept-3

Hello happy campers, Are you leaving BRC early this year? I desperately need a reliable ride to get me from BRC to Reno airport before 2pm on friday, September 3rd . I won't have much luggage (perhaps one small gym bag), and I'd be much obliged if somebody could help me out. If you think you could l...
