Re: Center Camp and Plaza ATMS..
"Burner Bucks"!?! That's awesome! What are the current exchange rates for showing my junk? For getting spanked? For bouncing on a trampoline? For showing my junk while bouncing on a trampoline?

Burning Man Training Camp
So if a training camp was put together for Burning Man, like over a weekend, what skills would need to be trained? For example, learning to bathe oneself with only a sprayer and an evap pond. And how to figure out W=VxA for powered equipment. Now you go.

Re: Did you get a STEP Ticket?
12:18:34 here. 3 seconds away from the last ticketed report by Vargaso before the server test MOOP (Mail Out Of Place). I haven't been on e-Playa in quite some time but have been living the life outside with as much radical participation as I can muster. I have also been reading this thread and wond...

Re: Unlikely Burning Man 2012 Themes
That or half the burners high on time-release MDMA while the rest of us are keeping them hydrated or screwing them silly as they laugh and cry simultaneously. Face it. Some folks just don't want to come down. *laughing and crying simultaneously.* Get some! Get some! "Never want to come down. Never ...

Cowboy Angel - thanks to your response to my post. I came across a fitting OWS sign: The corrupt fear us The honest support us The heroic join us That's awesome! I also just found out that there is going to be an Occupy Las Vegas. So maybe I'll get to make that bacon after all! I love what people ar...

Re: OCCUPYWALLSTREET REINFORCEMENTS!
Simon - thanks for the Chaplin/Moby post! "More than machinery, we need humanity." Very inspiring. Openmndhlr - Interesting suggestion. I've been following this occupation via the web. I saw on their website "We need food" and immediately thought about Burning Man. If I was in the area, I would cons...

Unlikely Burning Man 2012 Themes
Fellow Burners, While we all anxiously await the theme for Burning Man 2012, let's get collectively creative and come up with some themes that are most likely NOT to be. Here are some examples: 'Bullets and Boas' 'As Seen on TV' 'Rites of Purchase' Alright. It's all I could come up with on such shor...

Re: What's your favorite of the 10 principles?
I've been thinking about your comments all week, marck, and I appreciate your feedback. Here's my response: I guess from your list that meatetarians, omnivores, vegans, agnostics and atheists are not considered worth mentioning. That's the problem with lists, it's hard for individuals to make one th...

Re: What's your favorite of the 10 principles?
Robrob, I bet you never would have dreamed that your simple question about favorite principles would descend into a philosophical discussion about the meaning of the word "hippie". But it's understandable. It's hard to faithfully live by any set of principles, whether you profess to be a hip...

Re: exodus
I compliment Bradtem on his passion for this issue and his contemplation on how to solve it! I share his interest in "burner ecology" and believe that we can ease the wait collectively. Less time in line = more time at "home". My camp's challenge was actually at entry (5-1/2 hours), but that's anoth...

Re: My Burning Man Retrospective
"The event has made it clear to me that our culture needs to rediscover the sacredness of life, and soon, if we are to emerge from our present crises into a more fulfilling future." Truer words were never said! I really appreciated your writing. This was my first year and it was most definitely a ri...

Re: What do you think about selling "schwag?"
Great question! And an important one to our community. Our fellow burners have given some great answers thus far and have shown that they are people of principle. I 'popped my cherry' this year and have been fascinated by the Ten Principles and by the words of Larry Harvey, looking to them to answer...

Congrats, RedHeaven, on having your rites! It seems that I missed quite a bit out there. I am hearing lots about the skeleton work. And I would loved to have seen the Board Art Car. I never went into the Hellevator even though it was on my street. And I also would have liked to see the ATM machine u...

Re: What's your favorite of the 10 principles?
Immediacy - just because it is the most elusive and thought-provoking of them all. I have been contemplating this one lately. Why was it chosen? And how does it apply to Burning Man and to the default world? Here is an interesting definition I found on the internet... S: (n) immediacy, immediateness...

Re: Tips for Shy People at Burning Man
Excellent post! If only this "shy guy" had read it BEFORE his first burn. But the Playa taught me these lessons the hard way. :) The one which I can wholeheartedly second is to FLOAT MORE AND STEER LESS. I went with a full calendar, every appointment made. I was prepared. I was going to experience i...

Center Camp Cafe Art?
Hello fellow burners. I am looking for information regarding the artwork that surrounded the frame of the Center Camp Cafe. They were cut-out pieces of cardboard with foil and paper stuck to them and they had various sayings and drawings on them. They were so beautifully simple. I would appreciate h...

The art that most affected me were the Octopus art car, the string of balloons stretching from 2:00 to 10:00, and the Trojan Horse burn. All 3 made me question reality. I love it when that happens. Truly spectacular. Thanks to the universe for providing. Which affected you the most?
