Re: Is burningman selfish?

Thanks for everyone's comments. It's a really interesting dichotomy. I know that because of burningman and the week I spend on "myself" I'm able to care more about others throughout the year - I insert a week but get out a whole year of applied self realizations and lessons. Well said badg...

Is burningman selfish?

I try to live my life as selflessly as possible. I care more about my husband than I do for myself because I know he does the same for me and so together we're both taken care of. I do the same for others (granted maybe not to the same extent, but that's the goal)... During this year's burn I found ...

Re: RZ Mask vs. Respro

@Max - thanks for the details. I bought the rz mask and it seems ok but I was expecting a thicker material / something a bit more "substantial" than what I received. Luckily, it does not have an odor to it. I wore it around the house for a bit and I thought it was a bit uncomfortable and h...

Re: RZ Mask vs. Respro

I wore bandanas and scarfs all last year... but with the prediction of dust storms and maybe even alpha conditions - I think it's better to be prepared (especially since I have asthma)... plus I'm getting a lil scared with all these predictions!

Anyone have experience with either of these? Can't decide which is a better mask. Thanks!

Thanks so much everyone!! I appreciate the feedback. Each RV is managing their grey water removal - each rv will likely flag down the trucks to assist.

What's on your camp's task list?

We're a brand new camp - none of us have created a camp before (we've been a part of camps but never from scratch / our very own), so I'm seeking advice from the vets. What key items that are on your task list? And or must haves. I know there are tips & tricks and random items that you consider ...

Thanks, everyone! That's what I thought the answers would be. I was 98% a no but some of my campmates were considering bringing them, so I figured I'd tap into the community for some outside feedback. For the record, I didn't break a single feather last year and cleaned up my fair share as well. Tha...

Thoughts on mohawks?

mohawk.JPG Just curious what people's stance is on mohawks? I make them using feathers, beads, and a mold. They are super secured. I've traveled with them to europe and back and not one feather drops off. I saw a lot of them last year - so I thought I'd get people's thoughts. See attached image. p....

I'm soooooo friggin ecstatic about my 2nd burn this year! It's all I could think about since the moment I left the playa last year ;)
But I'm curious to hear about your 2nd burn experiences... how did yours differ from your virgin year? What kinda wisdom can you impart?

Thanks all! Interesting perspectives. Everything each of you said makes a ton of sense. I appreciate your feedback. Like JK said - I've had the answer all along, but just didn't know how to act on it. I certainly don't want to bring "potentially incorrigible non-burners" to the playa (as E...

2nd year dilemma - seeking advice

Hello fellow burners! 2012 will be my 2nd burn. Isn't it a beautiful thing to be able to stay connected to someone whom you shared a great moment with? Contact (whether it's via phone, email or FB) doesn't dilute memories but rather it allows you to (potentially) have more special moments in the future. my .002 :)

My pround experience - shared with you

Hello Fellow Burners, I lost my virginity this year and it was such a profound experience. This experience allowed me to open my mind so deeply. Becoming in touch with my inner self. I was so scared as slipped from reality into my deepest inner most thoughts. I was scared to see the turmoil I had in...
