Early arrival
On the early arrival subject...There was a lot of "official" talk that us plain old (non-theme camp) types would not be able to get in prior to 12:01 am on Monday. I got there around 10:00 Monday am and had to go all the way out to Neptune to find a spot. Talked to several non-theme campers around m...

Vitamin K
Take a vitamin K supplement daily, starting now and throughout the event. Or get it by eating a lot of green leafy veggies. K helps with clotting. I had a nosebleed problem as a little kid, this cleared it right up.

We just got married a few weeks ago. We'll be doing Honeymoon Camp, probably located on Saturn at around 3:45. Come on by for some cheap champagne served from Dixie cups!

Julia Child
What a legend.
Julia Child, asked by a radio interviewer once what her ultimate meal would be, said: "Red meat and a bottle of gin."
Cheers to that!

I've noticed that the bbs has slowed down considerably over the last few weeks...to the point where it's often too frustrating to use. Often up to a minute for a page to load. There are usually at most 25 users on when this happens. Something is really bogging down. It's not my local connection - I ...

I did something like that in 99 and 2000. It held up fine in 99 but then the winds of 2000 shredded it in about 15 minutes. From there forward I've build my canopy using iron pipe instead of PVC. If you want to go with PVC I'd say go with something bigger than 1". When designing the thing just keep ...

Free to a good home - bicycle trailer fish bar
I’m looking to adopt out my 2002 Burning Man art project Fish Like a Drink to anyone that can offer it a good home. This is a metal and fiberglass bicycle trailer in the form of a clown fish. It opens up to expose a bar setup - ice chest, bottle holders, etc. Two years of towing this thing around th...

Kee Klamps
I know of two sources for Kee Klamps in the US... First choice is Davis Bacon Material Handling.. http://theonlinecatalog.com/davisbaconmh/view_product.cgi?product_id=44 They can also usually get fittings that aren't listed on their site, just call them with the part number from the Kee site. Second...

Kee Klamps
For several years now I've brought a structure based on Kee Klamps... http://www.keeklamp.com/ We basically make an awning using these fittings and 3/4" iron pipe. Bungee a silver tarp onto the top, cover the sides with 60% shade cloth panels. Easy to transport and assemble. The frame looks sort of ...

I've been bringing those Reliance brand 5 gallon plastic collapsible carriers to bman for years. They work well plus they take up a whole lot less space on the drive home. We bring a generous 5 gals per person per day. We really love our showers out there. http://www.campmor.com/images/acc/80820.jpg

We certainly eat well out there. My belief is that we have to compensate for the harsh environment with some seriously good eats. Past things that we've made...filet mignon and lobster, grilled salmon, chicken marsala, thai tofu curry, turkey burgers, bbq'd tri-tips, Mexican breakfasts, green salads...

5000 pix the last 3 burns
Which begs the question. Does the internet really need 5000 unedited pictures taken at Burning Man? http://www.chroniclesofjoy.com/burningman/bm2k3/albums/closeup/thumbnails/IMG_0706.jpg http://www.chroniclesofjoy.com/burningman/bm2k3/albums/man-burn/thumbnails/IMG_1012.jpg http://www.chroniclesofjo...
