Lithuania Regional Burn?
Strongly considering a trip to Lithuania this year and was playing with the idea of having it coincide with their Regional event, if it is happening. All of the internet research I've done so far seems to indicate that it happened in 2012, but not 2013. Not entirely unheard of. Was wondering if anyo...

Re: Vehicle Passes and Burning Man Traffic Issues
Re-posting right from the Blog: Two questions come immediately to mind: 1) Will non-participant vehicles need these? Every water truck and loo-sucker? DPW trucks? How about the trucks used to haul the containers (local or otherwise) on and off the playa? Being from Boston, we’ve had some issues in t...

Re: Last minute panic thread
Also, how do early crews find out if the Gate road is closed? Do we all just huddle in Gerlach until they let us in? I mean, the weather reports look fine by the time the Gate opens, but for those of us showing up between now and Saturday... That's what radio is for - you can tune into BMIR! I've t...

Re: FOP - feet on playa.. how long for you? 2013!
Got an early entry pass to arrive with camp on Thursday. I'll leave Thursday night and after a short stopover in Reno, I should be on playa before noon on Friday. We've got art, two art cars, and a camp full of goodies to get built. No problem..... FOP in 4 days, then ten days of desert life and ou...

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Gotcha. We East coasters are pretty Zen right now (most of 'em anyway). Our Space Madness is usually highest two weeks before gate opens, when we (Boston, NYC, Philly, etc) generally load the containers for the cross country trek. The cross-country drivers have mostly left by now. Tossing a few last...

Oh, soon it will be so quiet here, just me, Ugly Dougly and the rest of us in Camp Envy. Oh, and the spammers who always seem to know when Trilo's away. Have fun, y'all! Makes me curious. When does the slowdown happen? Are most eplaya regulars on early crews? Or does the slowdown tend to be around ...

Re: Any word on playa conditions for 2013?
So, back in 2010 I spent a lot of time in the medical tent. Pretty much every member of my Camp had to visit at some point (including my future wife). This was also the year of the Wedge. It was interesting to learn that it was the first installation to ever log more injuries than Thunderdome (slac...

For the skittish or inexperienced, a few packing tips: -If it rains while you're there, it'll definitely be followed by colder than normal temperatures. -Consider extra footwear and socks. But also time for your feet to breathe so they don't rot. -Carry extra gear on you when out of camp if it looks...

Schwarttzy that's awesome!
Those two guys were my camp-mates Ray and Eli and they actually biked all the way from Boston.
Awesome to hear you ran into them on the Jungo.
AutoSub is at 8:30 this year, come by, say hi and try out that slide!
Sorry to threadjack. btw.

I don’t really want to get into the ‘why get married’ side conversation, so to address the initial question: For much the same reason we go to the Burn in general…there’s really no place on Earth like it. We didn’t meet at the Burn; we never even really had any profound moments as a couple at the Bu...

Hi all!
Just wanted to follow up. Tony has indeed found us.
Likely, in part because of your help Savannah. Thanks!
There's a few of us that have eplaya accounts, but none of us check regularly (obviously).

Hey ThudGeek.
There's a bunch of Burner folks who have made that drive and been to the Burn many a time. I'd recommend chatting with some of them.
We gather at the Cambridge Brewing Company every Tuesday night.
