I always hold mine up and give it a squeeze to let the water drain back into the pack. Avoids the wet mouthpiece that attracts playa dust.
I usually toss an emergen-C pack in the water for a little flavor.

Make sure you have the right air pressure for your vehicle weight in those tires. Fronts can be different than back. Check them at your first gas stop.
Bring your own tire gauge. Even brand new tires can blow if the pressure is too low or too high.
