old rv often have small leaks that seem pretty harmless. but you may want to bring a tarp to spread under your rv to catch any leaks. blm checked under all of the rv around our camp last year, and made several rig something to prevent those leaks from hitting the playa.

i took a futon last year and really liked sleeping on it. i covered it with a couple of sheets that i didn't care about, and it held up fine. little residual odor detected after the event. i'm planning on bringing one again.

i think it means there will be 6 more weeks of winter. depending on the hemisphere.

i had little trouble sending email either of the last two years. i kept my laptop in a ziplok bag in my backpack, only took it out to do a bit of minimal communication, used it quite sparingly...didn't need to charge batteries.

still, it got dusty. 802.11 was hit or miss...

do keep in mind that dry ice will carbonate many things if not segregated from your edible food.

carbonated milk is a kick. carbonated lettuce is not.

i had half the people who said they'd come bail with about six weeks to go before the burn, and then a few more who joined up just a couple of weeks before. i had a blast with those that came.

i have to admit that i do like the responses, albeit evasive, in full paragraphs. i think sharing entire ideas contributes more to the tone and texture of the eplaya than hastily written four-one-syllable-words-and-a-smiley posts that (to me) clutter the place up unnecessarily.
