I knew a guy once who decided he would shoot a hornet nest. Despite my repeated appeals of "Seriously, man, that's a REALLY BAD IDEA," and my own efforts to gtfo, he did it, anyway.

LOL!

Or get a can of WASP spray with a longer range, lol.
or, depending on where you live, do it at night when it's colder and they can't fly

They probably wouldn't stick to a LEO vehicle.
Did I say that out loud?

extra points for anyone who successfully sticks it to a LEO

It's not so much me being all about alternative energy. I just enjoy steak, and would like to cook some steaks out there without having to haul a grill out there

Re: How much alcohol should one bring?

Since I'm not a big drinker, most of the alcohol i plan on bringing will be for gifting. Larger quantities for people who stop by my camp, and smaller bottles to give people as a token of appreciation (people in camps who provide services, like kitchens, bars, recycling, etc)

Re: Your first aid kit

Why not just roll one of these things around with you, so you can be prepared for ANYTHING! (keep in mind that there are first aid stations at various locations. no need to stitch your own wounds) http://img.smartpak.com/product/18707.jpg Oh, I can't even watch some parts of House, let alone stitch...

Re: Your first aid kit

oh, vinyl electrical tape is also handy for making sure bandages stay on, and for general protection from blisters. Normal medical tape is alright, but electrical tape is more flexible, in my experience, and easier to deal with. also, you can completely cover the bandage and it's waterproof.

Re: Geodesic Dome Construction (Tips and Tricks)

I'll have hooks and bolts all over for those, but just a plain dome with hammocks seems a bit..."tame" to me lol

of course, i could just lower the loft to a couple of feet off the ground and use it as a sort of coffee table, or just general storage...

WD-40 is neither an oil nor a lubricant. It's a solvent. Got a lock that's stuck? Squirt some WD-40 in there. Got some grime? Spray some on, then just scrub/wipe it off. Need to keep something lubricated? Put down the can and go get some 3-in-1 oil

Your first aid kit

I searched and didn't find anything about this, but what do you keep in your first aid kits, besides all the obvious stuff like bandages and antibiotics? My only real modifications to any kit are super glue and rubber bands. Super glue is really handy for those cuts small enough to not need stitches...

Solar-powered griddle?

My dad told me once how when he used to go fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, he and his friends would just put some foil down on the dashboard of the boat. He said it would get hot enough to cook steaks and such on. Would that work on the playa? Just rig up a cooktop out of foil and put it on the hood ...

Re: Geodesic Dome Construction (Tips and Tricks)

Good morning, campers! So, I'm a first-timer, planning my [ideally] 2012 trip (worst case, 2013), and i'm wanting to build a 24' diameter 5/8 3v dome out of 3/4" galvanized steel conduit. Since the height of it will be about 15 feet, i plan on having a sort of loft in the middle. Perhaps on a free-s...
