So, who's going?

Moderator note: This is what Eddie is talking about.

There are signs out on those roads telling you specifically not to stop and talk to the locals. That is a pretty good reason right there not to drive those roads. I know people who have, they were fine, but they said it was a little creepy out in those parts. Wouldn't recommend it unless you know t...

Been learning how to fire spin and my group is hoping to qualify to perform at The Man burn. My first performance with real fire was this past weekend on a frozen lake in Minneapolis. I only caught myself on fire once. Always up for a new challenge! Nice, where is\was this? I just pulled into Minne...

Ok, I am thinking I got screwed like a virgin. At least it seems that way. I got a ticket from a burner WAY back in February or March. I was told it was a DGS ticket. It was sitting in an envelope on my desk when my place burnt down at the end of March. Since the fire I was more concerned with findi...

I'm in an apt, no garage, the only reason I still have a few camping items is because a friend had em. I lent him some stuff for a camping trip a few weeks before the fire. I got out of there with a pair of pants and my dog.

I've been to the playa a number of times on 2 wheels, never miserable. This year however I simply lost all my gear to a house fire. I have some main items.

The magic muffins I make have a hashkaha from the OU.

To the op, if you're looking for a minyon I think you'd have to scour the entirety of BRC to find em.

Simon, can ya pass me the bacon please?

Does Rampart or EMT have a dentist on call? Last year I knew of two guys who left the playa due to tooth pain. I was considering bringing in a dental chair and a dentist this year.

charter should start further east, like NYC. A very large percentage of burners are here.

Why not hop into the short bus with Tosca and Joe?

I was told you cannot tow or have a second vehicle attached to your main vehicle unless t's a mutant vehicle. This is when I was considering hooking up with someone in Reno and mounting my motorcycle to the back and hitching that last stretch of 447 in an RV. A car might be a different story.

I was on Jungo Rd on a heavy (900lbs) loaded down bike. It was slow and brutal, but I made it without breaking anything important. YMMV

I am by no means a hexayurt expert, but have you built one before? If not, I would be nervous building one for the first time right before you head out to the playa. Hopefully they were precut and tested first for fit. It takes 2-3 people about 10-15 minutes to put a 12ft one together. I put up 7 o...

So who's riding in this year?

My house burned down a few months back, lost all my good lightweight and expensive camp gear, thankfully the bikes were across the street at the time.

Working on gear, might just go without and sad face my way into someones loving arms.

I quit carrying a tire iron years ago. I use my kickstand and the weight of the bike to break the bead. Compact tire tools do the rest just fine. I've done that on numerous occasions as well. Here is the problem doing it on the road.....you need a second motorcycle! Or one with just the perfect cen...

Hey guys, I need a true or false. Can someone with a will call ticket not do early entry for camp setup? I was told no by someone who may or may not know what he is talking about. I have just one more day to figure out what to do with this ticket. A second question, will call opens on Wednesday (I w...

The water made me a little too heavy http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g329/Fire_Marshall_Bill/IMG_8293_zps05d49a73.jpg Nice, came in from Kaliforniyuh? My rear end started to sink in the entry one year when the playa was super soft. I just found a "lane" that was more hard packed and split to th...

Here is my packing setup when coming in a motorcycle. Some of the tips would also be useful if there are multiple parties coming in a cage and need to share packing space. Some of the items are a little heavy for a plane ride but you might find a few tips that work for you. BRC on a motorcycle, a ho...

same here, I'm on 3 computers, using my profile, my friends and his wifes, nothing is responding when clicking pre-register.

Their servers must be swamped.

We have Republicans and Jews in our camp. How much more diversified can you get? We had some Jews in our camp. I made some bagels with a shmear and some lox and those scumbags ate them all ! And they ripped the elastic bands to the headlamps I lent them with their horns. Bastards. Pyro, got a seat ...

That is genius. I do that with all my off road bikes. I despise allen keys though. I use black oxide bits. They do not rust and they are hard anodized so they are a bit stronger than the run of the mill bits. I use an awesome little 1\4"x5\16" ratchet thats just 5" long with it. I also however have ...

i have also failed 3 times due to mechanical failure i could not fix on the road. ouch twice i hitched, one time grabbed a train, then hitched, carrying my fucking saddlebags thru the gate, over my shoulders. If you ever break down in the NYC area gimme a hollar. I'll come rescue you. I have a trai...

Hey, I recall seeing a couple of vests with a patch displaying the Black Rock City motorcycle club. I saw a couple of people wearing them. Or I may be high and just thought I saw it. If it exists I'd love to pick one up, if not, anyone willing to cobble up a design who is familiar with photoshop and...

Well yeah, there's the car door thing. And I can't imagine any graceful or safe way to sneak by the traffic on the road that branches off 447 and leads to the turn-off, what with dust on one side and oncoming traffic on the other. So probably a night-time or late evening / early morning approach wo...

The question I have is this: how are bikes treated as traffic during entry / exodus? I can imagine that 6 hours of stop-and-go in 100-degree heat would play hell with the cooling system, not to mention the rider. The only times I took a bike was in '96, 97, and '99, when traffic was nothing like it...

COOLER For years I have been using Polar Bear coolers. These things are great, they keep food frozen longer than most high end hard sided coolers. They happen to also make medical coolers designed to hold organs for transport. Try not to mix up your liver with your liquor. Anyway, they pack flat so...

Most Excellent!!! I'll be arriving on bike as well. I've been hunting a trailer but most are far to fancy for my needs. The harbor freight just might do the trick if my riding companion can't carry the needed supplies on his bike. I'm on a 1200GS Adventure and can carry quite a bit. My good mate is...

Nicely done, Eddie. You are a beast!!! Love it. I rode last year, but had a full camp with truck and stuff not far behind me. This year I scored an early entry pass. I'll be there four, maybe five days before the showers and hot food shows up, so I'm going to run through your list more carefully an...

Are there any out there that could pass for regular milk? All I use milk for it some cooking and coffee. I need my coffee. I say take the shelf stable (wait, that's for horses?) stuff. Pop it in the fridge 12 hours before you use it, and of course, after you open. do you have a brand you recommend?
