Re: what are you listening to?

This came to mind as I watched Trump gasping for air as he was showing he's in control.

Re: what are you listening to?

It's been months of 9pm curfew and total silence down in the valley below me on Koh Samui, but, there was a 4 day wedding with music all night. Hearing disco type stuff at 5am, but not waking up at all during the night, I was back in Burning Man mode...but tonight, at 9pm, the wedding is over, silen...

Re: Politics, Everyday, All day... morning, noon and night....II

Sept 2020 had me thinking of the movie "Brazil." Found it at www.criterionchannel.com. In a running commentary during the 2 hour film by Terry Gilliam (an "extra" feature pulled from the old laser disc offering) he says this at one point: "...My original ideas about the film: the Ministry didn't kno...

If you haven't seen Terry Gilliam's "Brazil," go to www.criterionchannel.com get a 15 day free pass. Also, the "extras" from the old laser disc release are there. Perfect movie for what's happening in 2020...

Re: My favorite video (today) thread

I think these lines are pretty timely:

"...we don't care if you hound we and lock the doors around we"
and
"...you will never win we, your uniforms don't fit we."

I.....wish I had been bold enough to go to this "Not Burning Man". You can go next year...hopefully by next August the buzz won't reach the frat boys, freegans, shirt-cockers, sparkle ponies, Instagram influencers, P2P camp leaders...and especially, those megaphone people...so proud of their disrup...

Re: So who is still going?

Big props to EVERYONE who went out there! With absolutely no assurance that anyone would be allowed out there for that week, you went anyway, into the unknown. That kind of decision and action is the only sane approach to how to survive 2020 as of right now and into the forseeable future. My heroes....

Re: My favorite video (today) thread

I noticed that was a 48 star US flag in the backdrop of some scenes. Using a 1959 vintage background makes me somewhat doubt the veracity of the message. Maybe the GIF of the waving 48 state flag is from current RNC files and next on Trumps list after the Puerto Rico sale might be Hawaii to the Jap...

So, who thinks Burning Man will never recover? I think the ship is taking on water and going down. BMORG is addressing the fact there may be no BlackRockCity in 2021. Today, Lollapalozza said probably not 'till 2022. This fall, I need to move to a smaller warehouse space and thinking all BM stuff s...

Re: So who is still going?

Ironically these people think that desert is “home”. I would never subject myself to go out there and in most likelihood, find the majority of people there the same type of people who I saw rolling around in the ashes of the man 22 years ago. A sight I can never unsee or unthink. It imprinted me so...

Amazon prime has 150,000,000 USA customers that pay $119 every year.

Whatever the cost of unionizing might be, raising that Prime fee by $1/$2/$3 should cover it.

Prime people are addicted to Prime and will pay up without a wimper.

Burning Man should, for 2021 go blockchain for every aspect. They have the time now to get it together! Force it on attendees for ticket purchase...what other demographic is as tech savvy and willing to put up with the rigmarole....or else no ticket. Demand vendors become part of it. It is Black Roc...

I was there at night and this guy comes up pulls up his sleeve and he is wearing like 5 high end watches and offers to sell me a 600 dollar Bulova watch for 130 dollars. That's not that high end but way more than i would spend on something i never wear. I tell him no and he drops the price to 90$. ...

Speaking of Robert Crumb, if you've never seen these 12 panels of "A Short History of America", you won't be disappointed:

Yes, thanks for that. I've forwarded to many ...
The last time I heard Sacramento mentioned in film was in the movie "Crumb," where Robert explained his inspiration for ugly street views of USA came from a trip he made to Sac. Then I remembered his great portfolio on Kafka:
