Re: socks - cotton, silk, wool or bamboo
I just grab a bag o' socks from big box retailer store, virgin white cotton socks feel like absolute luxury when you slip them on... so good. No need for expensive, exotics. Truth! I bring enough for 3 pairs per day. The devilish thing about "playa foot" is that it happens before you have any sympt...

Re: I'm so old I remember when...
I'm so old I remember when I'd fly across the Atlantic, entering by climbing up stairs from the ground, sit in seats facing other passengers, with a table between us for reading or playing cards, in a plane that had four propellers. I'd spend hours in the cockpit. And real food. And a smoking secti...

#moot -having little or no practical relevance, typically because the subject is too uncertain to allow a decision. IIf Trump was going by in a motorcade, chanting of MootMootMoot would be about right.... Had to look it up: Moot derives from gemōt, an Old English name for a judicial court. ... Back...

I've done TastyBites for a decade out there. Bombay Potatoes and Madrass Lentils. Each have lots of carbs and even carnivores go gaga over them.
BUT, their rice pacs taste horrible. Buy one and see for yourself.

It's been months of 9pm curfew and total silence down in the valley below me on Koh Samui, but, there was a 4 day wedding with music all night. Hearing disco type stuff at 5am, but not waking up at all during the night, I was back in Burning Man mode...but tonight, at 9pm, the wedding is over, silen...

Sept 2020 had me thinking of the movie "Brazil." Found it at www.criterionchannel.com. In a running commentary during the 2 hour film by Terry Gilliam (an "extra" feature pulled from the old laser disc offering) he says this at one point: "...My original ideas about the film: the Ministry didn't kno...

I think these lines are pretty timely:
"...we don't care if you hound we and lock the doors around we"
and
"...you will never win we, your uniforms don't fit we."

Big props to EVERYONE who went out there! With absolutely no assurance that anyone would be allowed out there for that week, you went anyway, into the unknown. That kind of decision and action is the only sane approach to how to survive 2020 as of right now and into the forseeable future. My heroes....

Re: My favorite video (today) thread
I noticed that was a 48 star US flag in the backdrop of some scenes. Using a 1959 vintage background makes me somewhat doubt the veracity of the message. Maybe the GIF of the waving 48 state flag is from current RNC files and next on Trumps list after the Puerto Rico sale might be Hawaii to the Jap...

So, who thinks Burning Man will never recover? I think the ship is taking on water and going down. BMORG is addressing the fact there may be no BlackRockCity in 2021. Today, Lollapalozza said probably not 'till 2022. This fall, I need to move to a smaller warehouse space and thinking all BM stuff s...

Ironically these people think that desert is “home”. I would never subject myself to go out there and in most likelihood, find the majority of people there the same type of people who I saw rolling around in the ashes of the man 22 years ago. A sight I can never unsee or unthink. It imprinted me so...

Amazon prime has 150,000,000 USA customers that pay $119 every year.
Whatever the cost of unionizing might be, raising that Prime fee by $1/$2/$3 should cover it.
Prime people are addicted to Prime and will pay up without a wimper.

Burning Man should, for 2021 go blockchain for every aspect. They have the time now to get it together! Speaking of Robert Crumb, if you've never seen these 12 panels of "A Short History of America", you won't be disappointed:
