Re: Shade fabric HELP

Don't forget that shade cloth makes a nice wind wall too. . 80% and above shade material can be great to block playa dust blowing straight into your tent entrance. Everyone wants to have wind protection around their home, be it vehicles or larger dwellings, but many times one has no ability to set ...

OK Boomers remember recording studio sound board wizard Phil Spector's Wall of Sound, and here it is for Christmas: https://youtu.be/13UOepPcpcE Trump should pardon Phil today to scorch those America hating libtards promoting PC "holiday" renaming (gawd I hope one of his devotees don't suggest this...

The "test patterns" introducing us boomers to our first mandala. I know I stared at it... Viewing from a foot away was fun. Electrons didn't end at the phosphor-coating on the inside of cathode ray tube, so maybe that was part of the fun. Those electromagnetic waves perhaps heightening the experienc...

Re: I'm so old I remember when...

I'm so old I remember when I saw television for the first time. There was a small fire in our house and Dad sent my sister and I next door. And there it was: a small boxy unit with an almost round screen. I suppose I got hooked immediately and for weeks whined at my parents until they relented and ...

If someone believes they can wait to rent an RV, they should spend 30 minutes zooming on this gigapan.

Great job with operation of drone and many hours of stitching!

I never saw this set-up before:

Re: Bungee ball alternative?

I just found this great guide from Suspended Animation on using Running Rigging. https://www.suspendedanimationcrew.com/docs/howToTieYourCampUp.pdf It's not as easy as it looks, especially if you want all four sides "gaps" to be the same width. Here's maybe the most important tip from the article: ...

Great dust proof 10x20 tent and two cots

Before you get too excited: the tent and cots are in Sacramento. Tent and cots were used 5 days at BurningMan. That's it! It's hard to find any tent other than expensive canvas ones that don't have "venting" mesh that does not have a way to be covered other than jury rigged methods that usually (wi...

Lag bolts are pretty rare, although many refer to lag screws as lag bolts. Here is a 1" x 12" lag bolt used for tree houses these days: lag bolt.png The "lag" name is really about the threads, which are obviously made for wood. Supposedly, the word "lag" comes from: from lag; the screw was originall...

This combo below works for me. Total cost about $25 and I actually use the breaker bar outside of the playa, unlike T-handle or speed wrench, which off the playa I only use for nuts or bolts that have already been "released" from the high torque they were tightened with. Most speed wrenchs only have...

Common answer would be you bring a projector, generator, sound system, screen that won't blow around and chairs. or, look thru last years theme camps and see who is doing movies and contact them...they may be doing it again and might have a time slot available for you. Good luck ( I not trying to dis...

Re: Tandem bike thoughts & experiences

If you have space in your transport system, you might want to also bring a single bike with normal 26" x 2.4" or 2.5" tires. There will be times you will need it, as handling a tandem with no stoker behind is awkward and there might not be enough traction for soft spots which can be like talcum powd...
