Re: Need recommendations for goggles that fit over glasses

I use ski goggles. (Usually from garage sales.) Get the clear ones so you can wear them at night. You can cut a slice out of the foam to let your eyeglass stems slide through. Try some on at the up scale store and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I think the first 6 inches are often loose and won't hold anything down.

Re: Monkeyhut over shiftpod with aluminet

I have the 'magic' rebar pounder. Buy a 6 or 8 inch piece of galvanized pipe and a screw on cap. When you slip it over the top of the rebar it gives you a way to hang on while you hammer it in. It also gives you a large, flat area to pound.

SSE If you research you'll find out that NO, there isn't room on the outer rings. It filled up in 2 days. There have always been people roaming the city asking for a small unused spot. And what does Figjams 'worth' have to do with him taking in someone? He may have been welcomed into someone else's ...

Whew. I almost forgot to post a costume today. This is just another example of color and pattern coordination. Three colors. The wig is just a couple of stuffed animals. I always get the Cruella DeVille comments. This is 2 blouses, 1 skirt, tights and a vest. A very effect way to dress from your eve...

I made this on a whim. It's chain mail made from paper clips and silver, metal tape. I've never worn it but at least I got 'that' out of my system.

It's cold at night. Your coat will most likely be your costume. The easiest way to feel and look dressed up is color and pattern. This was long ago on burn night. Black and white theme. Ladies coat from the thrift store, tights and a wig to match. The wig is just a stuffed animal gutted and pulled o...

Re: Start with what you have. It's easier and cheaper.

This is my playa coat. It will never be finished because I keep sewing on more patches. It started out as a ladies velvet sports coat with some embroidery on the back. I sewed a heavy lining of upholstery fabric on the bottom. Then a light weight old skirt over that. There are patches, fringe and fa...

With all the dusty vehicles turned back in after the burn, can't you get a good deal on a rental car and drop it off in L.A?

I didn't make these, but I'm working on a pair now. I love the unattached ruffle. Last night I saw a pair of brightly colored pants with the outlandish fringe. It went around the bottom and up and down the front and back of the legs. (I always put mine on the sides.) It's great to get out and see ot...

This is a piece of leopard faux fur. I folded over the ends to make them pointy. (And safety pined them down.) There is a long, skiny belt attached from the inside with safety pins. It can be worn around your shoulders or your waist. The fringe is made from an old t-shirt.

"Honey, does this make my butt look big?" "Yes Dear." That is what a bustle is for. These two are instant bustles. They are both curtain valances. Simply slip them over a cord or belt and viola. Fluff it out and prance like a peacock.

This is a plain old denim dress. I added gold trim and gold fringe. This fringe would normaly go on furniture.

Don't you just love long fringe hanging from your sleeves? Looking at the picture I can see this piece is not quite finished. It would be better if it were two sleeves with a strip of fabric across the back, holding them onto your arms. I'll cut off the front part. This item is made by cutting off t...

Hi Savannah. When you find the perfect dress, or skirt, cut it off to your ideal length. Leave it a little longer in the back for a dramatic effect. If you have enough fabric that you chopped off, Make a little ruffle or a scrunched up rose to sew on. I should cut off the front of that yellow one I ...

I've made several of these but I didn't make this one. Any old pocketed pants will do. The idea is to tie on or button on some beautiful, temporary pockets. If the pants fit you, just leave the waistband on. If they are too large or small you can hold em up with a belt. Sew some tule around the top ...

When you need a dramatic tailed coat and all that you have is an old suit. I like the look of three quarter sleeves on a long or formal jacket. The cuffs were made into epilets and the pant legs make great tails on back. I used the waistband to blurr the line between pants and jacket. It has yet to ...
