Re: Monkey Hut on the beach?

They won't pull up if you secure it down with straps. To secure in sand you use....more sand. Dig a hole. Tie your strap to a bag of wet sand. Nylon, cotton, canvas it doesn't matter. You can use old pillow cases. Bury the bag. tighten straps. Don't set up too close to the water line.

Re: Biggest MOOP in the history of Burning Man

Did anyone enjoy the 747? We went the first year. It was interesting. We stumbled across it the second year as they were having a 'fashion show'. Nope. We had better things to look for. We rode past it this year. 'Look. Da plane.' https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/avo/d/2001-boeing-747-stuck-for/6698...

I didn't. I got there a week early on Monday. On Tuesday at my little job they were saying it was closed. I don't know if that was temporary or it stayed closed.

Re: LAG SCREWS and MONKEY HUTS...

Please read the last couple of posts in the thread/link provided below. Look at the pictures. The playa can be as tough as concrete. I'm afraid your invention has an added stress point that can easily fail.

Re: Monkee hut + Kodiak tent ??

Face your monkey hut so that it provides shade and so you can sit in it and interact with passersby. Make a 'windbreak' for the back end. (Either tarp or a open weave shade cloth.) Put your tent towards the back and your 'frontroom' towards the street. This is all assuming you are setting up on the ...

Have you ever been out to, "Voted best camp"? 2 and L street. I love them. Over the loud speaker, "Hey lady, we can barely tell youre wearing adult diapers. Come in and have some vodka coolaid". A great bunch of ass wipes.

The photo ad is on a posting for lost sunglasses. The OP put it on there to show their lost item. I can only view the picture on my phone.

It's different on my pc or phone

Viewing a post on my phone shows an image of an amazon ad for sunglasses. On the pc there is no image. I'm signed in on both appliances.

Re: PAGE TWO

Like clockwork, they all of a sudden find us and ask for their lost items. How do they do that? Did they know all along that we were here? Is there a post on some social media that says 'Go to ePlaya and beg for your phone.'? The lost and found at Playa Info had a plethora of phones. Was the line to...

That's odd. I got 2 different ones in my map. What day did you come in? I suppose if you were a late arrival they may have been reorganizing the piles of loose papers and run out?? Sorry, can't send you mine. They were given to a campmate already.

MissP, welcome to ePlaya. You are lucky in that you have the entire year to prepare. Don't commit to any camp until you've done a lot more research. Try to reach out to your local burner community. (Yes, there are burners everywhere, except maybe Mongolia. They don't have anybody to spare from their...

BlackRocky, welcome to ePlaya. Do go to the 'greeters' thread and introduce yourself. Tell us a little bit of your story. What brings you to us? How was your burn? What department did you volunteer? Who do you camp with? Are you vegan or do you like muscle cars? Great pictures by the way.

Some Seeing Eye, You are absolutely right. Placement begs to know what really went on in their placed camps. It helps if you include your sector and your camp name in the subject line. '4:30 sector Tiger Man Camp' for example. The camp lead will receive an email asking for this info about your good ...

Re: Lag screws vs everything else...

It was a dream with my little 18v Ryobi and 2 batteries. I put in ten 16 inch lags and took them back out with ease. The ground was as hard as concrete so it took one battery to get them in. It was a breeze taking them out. I pounded 2 straight rebars for our flag and mascot. Big improvement over al...

So I sew. I sew everyday. I do other stuff but sewing is the answer to most questions. I cut a few chains. I went looking for mule tape and ended up sewing. I made loops out of heavy nylon straps. Worked great.

Re: Tips and Tricks for RV's at Burning Man

If you are planning to attach reflectix to a motor home I wouldn't use any duct tape. It will leave a mess of adhesive. I would love to hear from anyone that used the duct tape advertised as leaving no adhesive mess. It's sold in Home Depot. I use stucco tape. You have to search for it in Home Depot...
