Re: Dream come true for a first time burner

Mama, Welcome to eplaya. Every passenger comes with a ton of baggage so one passenger is probably enough. If you use your outside shower be aware that no water can hit the ground and you have to either evaporate it or take it out with you. Feel free to be a Greeter no matter where you camp. It's a w...

Bring good earplugs. Hearing the boom, boom, boom all night is nice. I kind of miss it since we've moved to a quiet neighborhood.

Re: Pursuing a CA CDL

Spar, It's confusing but in the United States I'm afraid you'll need a lot of special training and licensing. The weight of the vehicle appears to be the factor. Not whether or not you are going to use it for commerce. Start with the U.S. Regs. They override the state regs. In the United States, the...

So sorry. I stand corrected. TWO WHEELED. Scooters & Go-Peds Large, seated, street-legal motorcycle type scooters are not allowed in BRC. Small motorized scooters (single-person, two wheeled, lightweight, stand-up, small, no-seat, off-street type, e.g. go-peds) are allowed in BRC, but they are s...

Sparr, I don't understand. What do you get for your money. Instructions. Driving lessons. The use of a car. You must know how to drive already. Just make an appointment at any DMV outside of the city. Take a friend to lunch and use their car for half an hour. Oh. I get it. It's a special license. Ne...

Welcome to eplaya to the both of you. It sounds like you know what you're getting into. good luck in your plans. Hop over to the thread wanting to join a camp. Look through the camps listing availabilities but it is kind of early. There will be lots more choices later. Try and find like-minded folks...

Re: Risks of leaving Reno on Saturday evening and arriving too early?

A few years back I was greeting and there we are waiting for the first car in. Lined up doing a chorus line kick. The first car got the full treatment.......Red and blue flashers and a ticket!! Don't be so anxious to be exactly on time. By the way Sparr, We were talking about you recently in the 201...

Dr lovemachine, please do come to the M&G. Don't bother to drag that all the way across the ocean. Nobody will appreciate the effort as much as we should. by Wednesday we are tired and drunk. Just pick up a bottle of Jamesons and a 6 pack of ginger beer on your way in. March in yelling 'Jamesons...

I just thought of something to put in my 'Go' bag.

I recently realized that burners keep a 'go' bag that's not for a natural disaster. What if you're asked to tend bar at a steampunk festival 90 miles away? You may overnight in your car afterwards. Or if a friend texts you that they have an extra ticket to the ukulele orchestra. It's 60 miles away i...

For the event I only have 2 features that are necessary. It must take regular batteries, (not a weird rechargeable), and it must have a viewfinder. The little digital screen is worthless during the day.

So, I finally decided on a set of batt op tools. Since I'm not going to use them much and I'm very respective of my tools I settled on ryobi. I saw a lot of brand loyalty and men playing with their toys. I talked to customers and salesmen. (Yes they were all men.) PLUS, they're lime green like a 73 ...

Don't bother. You can go over to Hookers and Makers camp. Sit out front and watch guys stick their dick in the electric Glory Hole. They do it on purpose. Don't waste any valuable time on mean pranks.

AC, This is not a new suggestion. I've seen the debate and several mean ideas. That's what they are. Mean. Personally, would you crack someone's skull open or break their wrist for taking your bike? Some people would. If the answer is yes, (and understand I am not asking for your answer), then go ah...

Morning BVB. Want a mimosa? *Pours two beauties in mason jars* I woke up sad. The last 20 years there have been a lot of fun. The first 20 were more like work than play. Now. I seriously need to build a short retaining wall for my next project. Gotta run.
