Re: Best layout for a camp of 2 people

I'll look into that. I love to keep the doors open at night. Capt. My 2012 Toyota van has exactly ONE keyhole. Drivers door only. Then I could climb in and open doors from the inside. Except the back hatch it only opens from the outside. There would be no way to lock or unlock it without juice. I ha...

Re: Best layout for a camp of 2 people

So...In 2016 my battery went dead. Of course I didn't know it till I turned the key. Just the 'door open' dash lights being on for 2 weeks is enough to drain a good battery. No. I can't pull a fuse. I can pull the battery cable but that's a whole other problem getting in and out with electronic door...

Re: Best layout for a camp of 2 people

I sleep with my back hatch open, (not every night or the battery would be dead). To hell with family and friends. If they don't like dust, don't get in my van. I cover the dash and seats with fleece. The cargo area is covered with carpet. Ok. It still looks dusty all year but I like it. If the wind ...

Re: Our Playa Homes

No. I didn't read it either. No, the shade structure and tent at the Burning Man event are not my home. I don't live in Black Rock City. No one does. I love the 2 weeks that I spend there. I work with my department all year here in the bay area. I 'do' burner stuff 365 days a year. Volunteering, cre...

Re: Best layout for a camp of 2 people

cmrabet, That is an excellent idea. (It's exactly what I do.) However, I have a carport instead of a monkey hut. I bring an ice chest for beer and fruit cups but no perishables. Check out the threads about food. Put up your tent and position some lightweight cloth over the vents. Every window and ve...

Veracity in bloom, Shade can be simple or ornate. (by the way, WELCOME to ePlaya.) Tarps come in all price ranges. Just stay away from the cheap blue ones. An 'easy up' will work if secured properly. No guarantees. Buy a costco car port Build something from bits and pieces. One year I got by with an...

I'm curious. Why do you come here NOW? You are not the only one to show up over 2 months after you lost your item. I assume this was miss placed at the burn. What brought you here? Did you contact the BM lost & found? Did you look at their gallery of lost items? We are a very small community of ...

Your car is very cute. The first thing I think of when I see those hula skirts is MOOP. Don't use them. Non-moopy cloth would be one alternative. (If you must hide your undercarriage.) Extra points for back lighting.

Re: The Art of Gifting

Another simple gift is a camelpak with water... at least ten parched people a day will approach you begging for water.

I've had EXACTLY two people ask me for water. (Since 2008)

By the way it's called a CamelBak.

Lend a hand. People need muscle. People need your time and patience.

I was in Harbor Freight today. (Getting my usual disposable gloves and free flashlight.) The clerk was trying to convince a customer he can not buy a trailer. All HF trailers have been recalled for some DOT thing. I didn't look it up cause I don't own one.

Just throwin it out there.

SF Decom was better than ever. Black Rock on the Black Top. It was much bigger and not lined up on a straight street. Like before. You could wander around and get lost. It had everything you love but the dust. The big stage, Roller Disco and Silent Disco were all inside a huge warehouse. It was open...
