Re: Does Radical Inclusion equal Racial Inclusion?

I’d recommend self-identifying as a Burner first & see if that helps foster an open conversation. [snip] Identifying as a POC first frames your perspective and (believe it or not) limits your objectivity. I had to walk away for a few days before I could adequately respond to this, and honestly I st...

Re: Nitwits attack Barbie Death Camp BM 2019

Warrants could still be issued for their arrest and if caught in NV, locked up. There is also a felony flight issue. I once overlooked a debt I had at one of the casinos. Got pulled over for a traffic ticket and was arrested for felony flight and almost extradited to Vegas from phx. I was never not...

Yep, that's what it's come to. Next thing you know they'll be knocking down Confederate statues that offend them....Oh wait.... But really what a bunch of Jack-wagons. Didn't BDV have some vandalism or theft a few years back? The crowd has really changed & I question whether I'm going Home anymore o...

Just a follow up.....

I arrived on Saturday around mid-day and the only thing that slowed me down was the speed limit. Nearly ZERO wait.

Totally Awesome.

Credit Card compromised

Just thinking out loud and seeing if anyone else had this happen. One of my credit cards got compromised which is nothing unusual but the pattern of spending looked A LOT like someone driving an RV from Indiana to Burning Man. It was so weird that when I looked at all the charges I had to think if i...

Re: Estimate for early entry Gate delay

The vast majority of EAs are for Saturday arrival. Arriving close to 12:01am Saturday will get you to camp in 4-8 hours, god willing. It's taken us as long as 12 (without horrible weather), so there is no "estimate" that works. Just have pee jugs in your car, snacks, and a backup driver if possible...

Estimate for early entry Gate delay

I've never had Early Entry as an option but this year I am arriving on Saturday. Can someone with experience chime in on how long the Gate wait may be for someone arriving shortly after midnight on Saturday. Basically I have 42 hours to make a 32 hour trip and would like to plan my arrival so I show...

In the spirit of Page Two..... For fucks sake I am fully aware of what it's for & how it's used. Hopefully that was vague enough to be perceived as a non-directed response on a thread that has very strict (but not consistently strictly followed) rules. Oh shit, should I have put this on Page Three?

Some people make me ashamed to be human. White dogs don't hate black dogs. I think there's full spectrum hate being exhibited these days. Your example would hint that it's a white thing. While that's obviously true for certian parts of our society I'd say it is far from a majority. You don't need t...

Wow yeah, this thread usually starts around May or June. What does it mean? Have we finally realized it's always going to be flat and dusty? A few years back when it took so long for the lake to dry up it was actually very humid. That made a big impact on the conditions. 115 degrees & 33% humidity ...

Re: 2019 One Item A Day For Burning Man

I actually built a hush box that works reasonably well for my Honda Knock-off. I was at a regional last weekend & didn't realize that it was running. It's not the loudest generator around but it's no Honda either. The only problem is it weighs a ton (not literally) . I still have to come up with som...

Re: Lag screws vs everything else...

Wigwam. Don't bring rebar as a backup. Bring hand tools. Ratchet, speed wrench, t-bar. You bring 2 batteries and faith. Give your driver a test in the yard. You'll have more confidence after that. Yeah, Plan A = Drill Plan B = Spin handle Plan C = Ratchet (it sucks but still works) Plan D = Vice gr...

Re: Lag screws vs everything else...

Ok, it took me a while (maybe I just like to argue) but I'm a lag bolt convert. While I have had my carport hit head-on by a Playa downburst and it lifted slightly (4-6 inches) & deformed, it never completely failed with my rebar. But the simplicity of driving lags really won me over. I know either ...

So there is no confusion or ambiguity, the remote, off the grid location of the Black Rock Desert makes this area absolutely ideal for police to train on the use of their Stingray monitoring devices. Note: Sham knows his phones. This is not hyperbole or a conspiracy theory. BRC is where LEO tests t...

Re: The basic problem with modern BRC

If we really want to bring BRC back to its roots, take it off playa. Now, you want to shatter the event, get rid of the Big Burn in Nevada & create a bunch of smaller Burns all over? You mean those insignificant Regional Burns that still have the Burny magic that the Playa has lost? Or.....(tapping...
