Re: law enforcement 2013

Savannah, Don't know. I seem to remember the very, very thin gal who tried to push the gallon of marijuana into us last year was like 5'6" or so, I don't have the form I turned into the BRC Rangers in front of me to tell what I wrote down. Longer dirty blond braids, but hair can change. Talks f...

Re: law enforcement 2013

(Post 3 of 3) I reported this previous encounter with a different undercover to the ACLU during the burn this year, prior to our camp’s unethical undercover encounter described in the previous post. The ACLU lawyers were surprised that this unethical activity of trying to place large quantities of i...

Re: law enforcement 2013

(Post 2 of 3) A 20-something year old named (rhymes with weed), wearing board shorts and no shirt, very sparse beard, walked into our camp and offered to help us with tear down in the early afternoon of Exodus/Labor Day, Monday, Sept 2nd, 2013. About the third thing he said was that he had a bag of ...

Re: law enforcement 2013

(Post 1 of 3) I have reported a very unethical encounter with an undercover that occurred on Monday, Sept 2nd, 2013 (Exodus Day) to the BM Government Affairs via a mailed BM 2013 LE feedback form, to the NV ACLU via a written letter to the LV ACLU office, and to Lawyers for Burners via their web for...

Re: NV Serving Alcohol Law & Camps Gifting Drinks

I hope this polite open letter was cool. This is an issue that has effected our event and our culture, causing people who are only trying to gift fun times to others on the playa to be unnecessarily wary, and causing some to not be as open and friendly and as welcoming as they may desire to be. As t...

Re: NV Serving Alcohol Law & Camps Gifting Drinks

Wow! I just found a great discussion from 'z s' (he may comment if he wishes) from 2009 on the realities and specifics of how to very effectively challenge a bogus citation on this subject. 'Z S', THANKS FOR THE INFO, YOU'RE GREAT FOR DOING SO!!!!! ---------------------------------------------------...

tSmalls, I was wondering about the same question, just from a personal edification point of view. Just keep records in a folder in case there are any questions, and list the buck or two of int...

Re: Solar conversion

Whoops, one mis-spoke in my previous reply, i'm not able to edit it anymore. It should read "The Morningstar solar panel controller will provide about a 150% boost to current from a 36 V Pmax panel into a 12V battery, resulting in 250% of the solar panel's 36V current, according to the very det...

Re: Solar conversion

Hi timujin, Congrats on doing this! As far as the BZ MPPT 250 goes, based on their specs, i don't have a clue about whether it is good or not. Their specs say it can handle the 36 Vdc (41 Voc) panel, so it won't blow up at least by over-voltage. But the specs have so much singing and dancing in them...

Re: Solar conversion

Yea, recognized the specs for the BP panel. Good company, which BP bought for it's last iteration. Too bad BP had this solar subsidiary go belly up, forcing it to dump onto the market all it's inventory, which resulted in the low prices. But, now many of the 36V solar panel complete modules are now ...

Re: Solar conversion

Actually, timujin, here's one real-MPPT charge controller that will probably do what you want. Your solar panel pushes to very near the amperage limits of this charge controller, but this company has very solid specs (i.e., they're not Chinese, and they sell to industrial plants/portable roadside si...

Re: Solar conversion

Sounds like you got one of the BP Solar panels, like i did from a gentleman off Craigslist last year for like $1/Watt in LB. Good panel, very solid. A few tricks on how to use it: - For using with a battery system, rather than a grid-connected system, it's for a 24V battery system. (The 36V is kinda...

Re: Geni and cord question.

Ha ha ha ha! Love it! People typically start with something small, and then say, "Adding this would be cool!" And it is, if you can recharge the battery, like you can with the generator, it doesn't matter in the least :-) Some overkill of "the dreaded maths", as someone said in a...

tatoogoddess, cool! (ps - others are gonna recommend a far more complicated setup, or try to do exacting calculations. No need to do so at all.) Re: Geni and cord question.

tatoogoddess, One potential idea is for you to maybe not get a generator: - Spend like $95 on a Costco 105 Amp-hour deep cell. 105 Amp-hours times 12V = 1260 Watt-hours (W-h), of which about 700 Watt-hours are useable without running the battery down too low. Charge it up at home before the burn. - ...

No disagreement with anything Capt. Goddammit said, except in tone. Guess that the review that said it sounds like a small mower is accurate.

Re: Geni and cord question.

Hi, It's useful to bring a very cheap voltmeter, 13.2 or so volts is fully charged. The inverter will kick off and make noise at about 11 volts. Or, just run the generator for 30 or 60 minutes when the inverter makes noise, the generator manual explains charging on page 8. The setup can be left conn...

We are planning on a baffle box. I forgot I had solar lights so don't need to use it for that. But the light I'm using is a dj dance style light. Said it is 20 watts. This is the one we are getting. It comes with cables.., are these what you are talking about? http://www.ebay.com/itm/110745033944?h...

Re: Geni and cord question.

tatoogoddess, cool! some recommendations: - get a 50' 14-3 outdoor extension cable for $20, no need to think further about that - the generator sounds like a very small mower, according to the reviews. If you put it outside of your camp, your neighbors ain't gonna be happy :-( - use LED Christmas li...

haleigh,

I apologize again.

It wasn't your sexuality that made me feel uncomfortable. As your edited recent post says, what made me, and seemingly others, feel uncomfortable was the topic being a hot button topic among some who have interests antithetical to the event.

Sorry, again.

Wow, if that is true, i apologize to the OP also. Sorry. Ha, ha, ha, ha!!!! Love it!!!!! As the man's arms were raised in 2011, an undercover tried to intimidate and bully me into letting him pour himself a beer. I refused, and gave him an earful about his disrespect for the law, since there is absolutely no law against it since he was obviously WAY over ...
