Re: Interesting read--open sale may be cancelled.
Radical Inclusion. "Spectators" one year may contribute sheer awesomeness in later years. I've always told newbies to not worry about creating/giving something in their first year out there. They can always find some way to help someone on playa, when they get there. Sometimes, that random encounte...

Re: What I think is going to happen with tickets!!
The OP and CO both make good points but I hink the Co is more on the money. I think the ORG is more likely to let the chips fall as they may and see what happens. But I would not be opposed to camps like Apok, MASH, HeeBee, BRC skate, etc etc getting special treatment on a small scale. 3000 tix seem...

Can we instead just gas people who make suggestions like this? Considering that you condone the theft of private property, the burning of peoples tents while they are sleeping in them, and colluding with law enforcement to set people up for bogus charges it really doesnt surprise me that you now wa...

This isn't the first time he has gone through this example of personal ineptitude. Re: 2012 Theme Camps - will you make it this year?
Too bad it isnt real polling data. Yup. I can only use what I found, and where someone has provided the numbers. There's 344 2012 Ticket related topics with over 11,000 posts: I'll guarantee I've missed some. And it's limited/biased to those who chose, for their own reasons, to report the numbers. ...

Re: Theme Camp Cancelation Announcement Thread
Our themecamp of 30 people is cancelling our plans on registering and providing for the community. We were planning on going super big this year and bringing shade, domes, fire and food. Due to a threat from the Black Rock Rangers made openly on eplaya we cannot register for fear of our campmates be...

Re: Occupy Black Rock City
So I was just made aware of threats of a felonious nature against our camp. Some of you may be surprised to find that it comes from a Black Rock Ranger. The threat is made in one of the ticket threads by Badger. Seems he is going to collude with LEO to create/fabricate an incident with our camp. By ...

If there's an Occupy BRC, I'm going to need to collude with the police to cause some "incidents" to get rid of them. No Occupy squatter trash is going to ruin my burn. Although only 40 camps of data, and early data, but we can see how this can affect camps getting ready, to and running at BRC for 2012. If you ended up with extra tickets, you know where they can go to good use... Nice, some real polling data. I have no idea about my own camp, because not everyone ...

Re: Positive Suggestions for Fixing What Is Obviously Broken
How long have you really been in line to enter BM? The longest for us was about 3hrs, on opening day. It took longer than that for us to leave on exodus--which represents the maximally efficient movement of the line. In that light, what is really being gained here with reduced, randomized searches,...

The biggest white chute I have ever seen was 30ft. and used by the Chinese Air Force. Surplus places sell them for just under 100 bucks. A good proposed fix would be to cancel the sale of any remaining tickets forcing the community to work shit out RIGHT MEOW so we can have all our burn plans sorted by March 1st.

Re: Positive Suggestions for Fixing What Is Obviously Broken
Cancel the sale of remaining tickets. All large scale rave camps band together and announce that they arent going to burningman this year. Watch the RV ravers dump their tickets. HeeBeeGeeBee, Apok, Bdc, etc get needed tickets. We become an art festival and experiment in community again. Honestly I ...

Heres why the lottery is better... A buncha sound art camps started showing up. Than more ravers started showing up growing the population of rvs, spectators, and weekenders. We sold out last year due to the fact that the sound camps helped make brc the "coolest rave evah". Now so many ravers want/n...

Re: Who plans on submitting tickets into STEP program?
Our group of 30 wound up with 6 extras due to the fact that we purchased at highest tier. Originally we were going to gift the tickets and or release to STEP but now that alot of themecamps and art cars got jammed up they are allocated for other people who need workers to get their camp setup. Re: Previous Early Entrants Scrubbed from Lottery List?
4 ppl in our household routinely do early arrival and we all got tickets. We went for tickets at the highest tier expecting cheap fawks to go crazy over the lower tiers. I expected this based on the fast sellouts of first tier tickets in years past. We got 100 percent reporting back and got about 70...

Buy a CamelBak at REI, use it, return it. Feel bad about it? Don't. It turns out that carbide taps aren't appropriate for titanium, unless someone else has other ideas? Kennemetal advises using very sharp high speed steel taps for titanium. These would also be suitable for everything else too, esp stainless or aluminum. 14 x 1 reverse isn't a standard stock item, b...

Having people apply for their tickets seems exponentially more feasible than having names printed on tickets. Spend 30 minutes filling out an application about what the event means to you or what you'll bring to the event if you're a first timer. Have a team of volunteer mods to read and review the...
