i also hope the folks that have made burningman so grand all these years don't give up on it just because it's bigger now, it's got new problems to solve and it's changed a bit. we need your wisdom...we honor it. peace Yes, it's got new problems to solve. That does not equate to negativity. I for o...

I thinks you're nuts AND I'm with you on it! My personal opinion is more like "burn the Man on Wednesday" but in general I think you're right on with the sentiment of getting a little radical to free up the flow in a stagnant pond. And it doesn't matter if you've not been to Burning Man for years an...

I actually tried to think about the same sort of thing, out on the playa. It hurt my head, so I stopped. But I totally agree with the sentiment. Maybe burn the man on Wednesday night? That gives a little buildup for those who have been there for 3-5 days, but then maybe would help the post-burn vibe...

- Keep the street names, but drop the "theme" entirely. Or better yet, just make the theme be this: Art. - Do something to promote ART on the playa, i.e. more granting. I've not done anything remotely resembling the art I've seen on the playa in past years, but am in a weird way inspired to do *some...

It's not so much that BM is one huge rave, it's just that each year it seems to overpower more of the city. I can't tell you the number of times I heard something this year along the lines of "Nothing against techno -- but I just can't escape it." Anybody remember the dice on the playa, where they p...

My first year, I helped a few people get out to the playa. Didn't know them beforehand, but had a wonderful time and we really liked each other. Fast forward 2 years, and I'm talking to my girlfriend about how I miss these people. We walk up to a line for some camp, and right in front of me is one o...

even after many years, unfortunately it doesn't get any easier to decompress. 1. smile at a stranger 2. set small goals to take even more back with you during the year (don't try to change the world all at once just because you now see how possible it is) 3. realize that the downtime will pass; you ...
