Re: Question about verifying voided ticket numbers...

Cool cool cool, thanks! When it comes to computers, math, and the news I usually tell people to "explain it to me like I'm a first grader.....!"
Much appreciated clarification!

Re: Question about verifying voided ticket numbers...

Hi sorry to be a pain in the ass but I didn't understand any of the computer directions you gave me. Here is the scenario: I will probably contact someone here on ePlaya to buy a ticket, I will have to drive to the Bay Area and the only way I can check the number is by pulling it up on my iPad (IF t...

Question about verifying voided ticket numbers...

Am I being naive in guessing that if someone is posting a ticket for sale on ePlaya, that it is pretty legitimate and that I do not really need to check it against all the ticket numbers listed in the voided tickets? The list is gi-normous and it is suggested that you use the "find function in ...

Who/where to contact about painting/Centercamp?

Hi, how does one go about getting to paint one of the plywood panels that surround the outside of Centercamp? Last year there was a "call to artists" in JRS for this but I was unable to make contact with the individual(s) and would like to submit my request for a panel this year. Thanks fo...

Re: Trying to understand BM imagery use in default art world

Thanks, this helps clarify some. When I saw that TV episode, I thought is was so off but then thought they might have to do that to not be an infringement(and also just coz it's a dumb cheesy show) but they used the name and such so I wondered. But mostly I was wondering about playa influenced paint...

Trying to understand BM imagery use in default art world

I was in a coffee shop where someone had displayed photos taken on the playa. Some of the photos were for sale. I also just read some articles about the use of images and the press package that you agree to as a professional photographer taking pics on the playa. I have been noticing a lot of commer...

Re: 2013 Theme - Cargo Cult - thoughts?

Random and obscure but alright, first thought that popped into my head was Joe vs the Volcano, the Waponi Woo islanders and Orange Soda...hmm...then I thought of the Prime Directive and how Starfleet tries not to expose pre-warp cultures to post -warp technology, yada, an so forth...ok, not sure I g...

Re: Living on the Edge

I was on 4:30 and Lilac across from Walk-In camping. It was great. Had a friend over in Walk in and it was a chill, quiet zone, peaceful and great for morning coffee. Bit of a bike ride into the city but worth it. One night, I came home and my neighbors were out and their alarm clock was going off f...

Re: Animals on playa this year

There was a dog out at walk in camping and when I asked about it I was told it was "grandfathered in" been coming a long time, still it ran out and bit my friend on the foot which was lame, another great example of why not to bring a pet out there.

Ride share, will call and paper tickets...

How does it work out for those who have a paper ticket in hand with folks in the car who have tickets at will call? Do the folks with will call tickets just get out of the car and with luck find their driver again or does the whole car and all passengers go to a will call line? I don't know how will...

Do YOU bring an "i" device 2 the playa?

Do you bring your i-device? iPhone, iPad to the playa? If you don't have a regular camera, do you take pics w/ your iPhone? Who does this? Good idea, bad idea? Keep them in a ziplock? Just wondering. Thanks!

Expectoration...teeth brushing. Spit or swallow?

K, here maybe dumb question but here goes...To spit or swallow?....iv been back packing and am familiar with lack of bathing facilities an so forth, however, in the woods you can always spit your brushed teeth muck under a bush or in grass or something but obviously not out there. Just wondering wha...

Thanks everybody for the awesome advice! Didn't Exactly mean "old"old when I said old! I just meant, well you know, when your 20 you just lift stuff and be all tough coz you think you can (my mom was 5 ft tall, bucked hay and said she could do any job any man could do, and ended up with 10...

Recommendations for an old-lady-solo-new comer?

I have read the survival guide and required reading but am still looking for additional advice.... I'm an old lady, I have pitched many a tent in my life but am just too wimpy to heave tipi poles (even though I have a super cool tipi). I was going to tent camp and I am being very warned against this...

Tents and RVs...

I understand it's a first come-type camping situation. That there is not staff directing each vehicle one right next to the other? I was at a festival where we were put in RV camping coz I had a small trailer but we were pitching a tipi. The staff freaked about the tipi taking up space and we were f...

My kids are finally old enough to get thier silly selves to school and soccor on thier own this year so I AM GOING! Getting a ticket has never been the problem for me but I have always wondered how people can get off work, get the kids, house and pets babysat, a car that will drive that far, acquire...
