Amos was not injured, although he did come out with chest and wrist pain due to the airbags. Insurance will be paying for him to see a doctor. :D We may also have a car lined up for after insurance, and it's a nice one! Hooray for friends with good taste! Also, tattoo that sounds wonderful. However,...

Hello Everyone! I am sorry that I dropped off the radar a few weeks before the event, and haven't been on since. Toby let me know you guys were curious if I was going again, what happened, etc! Beautifully written, Simon! I plan on taking quite a few extra bags and doing just that! You never know what you'll find, or who you can help. At the very least, you're keeping home beautiful. Also - I'm gonna get some serious playa cred . Or at least I plan to. go topless and the playa doubles you...

Fosters vegemite is a joke that we have inflicted on the world. We don't eat it. It's cats piss there fixed it http://britishfood.about.com/od/diningdrinkingtradition/a/marmitevvegemite.htm UGH! Juanita loves that stuff and tells us we should eat it. Personally I don't even want to look at the stuff!

I just bent some smaller rebar and welded it on the rebar stakes. Works great. To remove from the playa, just put a pipe through the hole with the end on the ground and pull up - out it goes. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/321536_126774754086329_100002614165231_144685_4922632_...

When i see the Australian Flag I cringe... here it is a symbol of nationalistic crap and wankers! I had a dream just recently that I took a HUGE trampoline to the playa with me. I brought a whole bunch of things to tie it down with and secure it, then invited everyone to sleep on the trampoline under the stars. We found a monkey hut shaped tent last year, of course on Craigslist, and we have vetted it here in the windy Columbia gorge with sustained 60 mph winds and gusts up to 75mph and it seems to have no issues, no twisting of poles, not too noisy if guy ropes are tight but I just don't want to get ther...

Bad news, there's been (as of this morning) at least one other entry. I won't say who, but let's just say it's a denizen of these threads. This is going to be good. @Finxiekins: Design it and shoot it off to me at the email address on the newsletter. So far we have no entries, though historically we get three or four (however, if the design yet again is Barbie blowing The Man, feggetaboutit). Re: Tent Questions!
Bottom line is that for the infinite possibilities for your infrastructure, there are two concerns which SHOULD be number one for ANY tent situation: 1- Shade over the top and on three sides. Hopefully, at least 8' of overhead shade in front of your entrance. Without shade on sides, you will bake e...

Tent Questions!
My husband and I have decided to bring a tent, a 7-8 person tent in particular. My questions are these: *What are good ways to keep dust out of the tent? *What are good ways to keep the tent cool in the heat of the day, and warm in the cold of the night? *Rebar is obviously a great way to keep the t...
