Re: Can tix in will call still be shipped?
Now that I'm not typing with my thumbs, the above post should read: Jonijet, you are not alone. I also carefully specified to have my tickets shipped to Canada, and they were processed as Will Call. I noticied this at some point, and had it changed at the last minute. I was not charged the shipping ...

Re: Do the math: over 50% of tickets went to scalpers
Let's see BM grows less than 10,000 people a year, even shrinking one year, but when a Lottery is announced against a backdrop of last year's network news about $1600 tickets on Craigslist, we suddenly jump from 54k to 133k ticket requests. Oh I want to believe it is the message of Burning love and...

Re: We need a system that appreciates VETS as much as VIRGIN
To become a member of the Bohemian Club, you need a sponsor. I think that's a path to stagnation. YMMV OK, I understand, and I agree that a closed feedback loop like that would lead to stagnation. Having a small feedback loop would help groups be able to enjoy a burn together, and it could be restr...

(convoluted system) I find it completely ironic that you named yourself "lessrules". don't get me wrong, the best way is remove the population cap. and I've got a few other rules I'd love to pluck. But I believe this whole thing right now is about: 1. venting, and 2. floating ideas out there sorry ...

Re: Ticket fiasco reaction from the LLC
I don't love this. Tickets should be free-roaming and transferrable. But tickets would still be free roaming and transferable, just without a scalping charge and for those that will actually attend. There are some additional work-arounds that would need to be set up and can be addressed to minimize...

To backtrack a little... Really, everybody's got a system, and the point of each and every system is to make sure that the person who invented it gets a ticket. Not so much with this schema (crossposted from another thread): your 2012 ticket gives you 10% off 2013.... but, you must gift it to someo...

Re: A new concern about scalpers that should be shared
What do you do when the scalpers have half of the tickets I'm willing to bet that scalpers do not have anywheres near half of the tix. There are so many burners without tix, that when someone tries to sell them at profit, that the sellers will be bombarded with pressure to sell at FV or put them in...

Re: Ticket fiasco reaction from the LLC
Not at all too late to make a positive change to this mess. Names can still be put on tickets . Ask those that won the lottery for the names, now. Either that, or it goes back into the STEP. A simple ID and ticket check at the gate won't overly slow down entry (hell, I've waited 4+ hours on the pla...

Re: This is how it SHOULD have been done.
The whole ticket madness could have been easily solved by doing this instead... #1: Same price, no tiers. Make the tickets all the same price. If your money is so tight that you cant go because you need to save $80 on a ticket, then you probably shouldn't be going in the first place. #2: Make it a ...

Don't mind me while I think aloud some more... I would call this CLU MPI NG RAN DOM NESS . Oy! That's a logistical nightmare to keep track of... OK, then what if we simplify it to: All tickets must be gifted. Of course that would be insane, but if we work from that standpoint.... where do we get? Initially, it would be funny to see a scapler trying to sell a ticket that has to be gifted....

Re: The non-repeat, non-negative lottery feedback thread.
So, I have another idea: The pop limit is kinda sorta based on the amount of traffic 447 can handle. What if you sold one ticket for a vehicle, and another ticket for passengers. Tour buses, vans, etc would suddenly become a more viable option. While increasing the population limit, you wouldn't ha...

I like where this is going. If you really want to have some fun with the scalper market, create a ticket system that does not have any independent means of verification. No hologram. No fancy printing. Just a very simple and very easy to forge ticket with a unique ID number. Tell everyone their tic...

I'll hijack this thread to throw in my hazy, late-night foggy-brained lotteryish-open-sale-merged idea: 0nce upon a time, there was this festival, and everyone was like - anyone who wants to come can come. Then it got big and people were like - this is as big as we can handle right now. Then people ...
