Re: Questions about lnt, gray water removal, large kitchens

i personally cant touch wooden cutlery - but these are getting quite popular in Australia - may be a good option to add to paper plates etc & just get burnt - no washing.

Re: Corn bread recipe please

Make as many cornbread variations as call to you. Host potlucks and get invited to potlucks. Bring cornbread to potlucks until people say, "Oh my God, here comes Bumble carting out another damn cornbread." When you can make a cornbread without using a recipe, then, grasshopper, will you t...

i think he ran out to playa in his escape - then ripped down our Darth Vader head from our art, so that he could escape incognito Well thats is what i'd prefer to think happened to our vader head. Re: Corn bread recipe please

thanks y'all i think it went ok for my first try. i did put a small amount of sugar (no molasses in the house) and originally there was no flour - but as it was really runny i added it to bulk it up The only problem was, was that i thought it was done - but i was too quick as the bottom was stuck. Can I ask how changing the time would stop the drones? Do they not fly at 8pm - tea time?

Didn't bother me however, I can't stay quite for longer than 5mins on the playa - sitting and shhing isn't my thing

Re: Anybody up for cycling from the Reno Airport?

I'm planning on landing in Reno and then aiming to find the nearest K-Mart to buy the crappiest bike they have. That way I can ride it up to BRC and also have the bonus of having a bike during my stay. On the return-trip I plan on donating it before I leave Reno. I obviously don't plan on riding at...

Re: High Myopia Prescription Goggles?

Another suggestion is to just wear your glasses and get ski googles which sit over them. I mainly wore my prescription sunglasses during the day and only put the googles over them a few times, they fit fine as they have soft foam which "seals" the face and protected my eyes enough. N.b my ...

Last year the Honey Jack Daniels was also a big hit on the snow cones. I plan to bring more this year. I do remember trying your honey JD for the first time last year ( i think it only launched in Australia early this year) We had it again recently on a trip to the snow - kept it in the freezer &am...

Re: The Evolution of the Crowd-Funding Model?

I'm torn. Maybe the Kickstarters level the playing field for people creating wonderful things on the playa that they otherwise wouldn't be able to create. The other side of the coin is that if you can't afford your vision, maybe you should scale back on it? I'm anxious to hear what people think abo...

2 reasons that i will be wearing boots this year 1-Obviously, you know that you need supportive shoes out there due to the unevenness of the playa. Also, not only do you want support - but you want to avoid playa foot & therefore you can't wear your usual summer sandals/thongs etc that would be ...

Re: please settle a pub argument - how dusty??

Mum had a book by Shere Hite that I picked up as a kid, by mistake (to start with anyway; it sounded like a popular kids book) in some cases a lack of illustrations was a good thing! This too was not a good preparation for my future - I was probably over prepared however and probably asked some ver...

Gyre - i think you'll find whether we have gun laws or not, you can only protect yourself and not harm anyone that unlawfully enters your property (i.e. only in self defence). As guns aren't as easy to buy here (things like a 28 day cooling off period from purchase to actually taking hold of a gun, ...
