STILL processing my first burn experience

Hey everyone--I have missed u so much, and have not been on E-Playa since getting back from my first burn this year. Just wanted to take a minute to share where i am at, and what it has meant to me: --Memories of my burn coming flooding back to me at odd moments; it has become like a faint music alw...

Re: Playa Dreams & Nightmares

Last night, I dreamt that I was at a supermarket a day or two before leaving for Burning Man, and I was buying lunch from the salad bar. I put down my bag (a pink backpack) near the salad bar so that I would not have to lug it around while I made my salad. By the time I finished making my lunch, I l...

Re: Water trucks

I've heard many times NOT to follow behind the water trucks for the purpose of cooling off with a free "shower"... the main reason given is that it is not "potable" water, or that the water sprayed is contaminated "gray" water... Here's my question: --If it were gray or...

FINALLY packed all my clothes (or about 90% of them) tightly and neatly into my suitcase--I ROCK!!! Used large ziploc bags to organize the clothes, squeeze out excess air, prevent dust, and make outfit planning easy. Actually fit WAY more stuff in the suitcase once in the bags with air squeezed out!...

Hey, do you happen to know if a fellow named Chris is coming from Sacramento? That's where he was last year. Fishy: I dunno whether Chris will be there or not--don't really know anyone in Camp Contact, and since this is my first year, don't even know that many Burners :) Just stop by Camp Contact (...

The only thing that really bums me out about the shitty bike riding is all the art in the deep playa not getting the love it deserves.... Re: Playa Dreams & Nightmares

I had a strange dream last night: that I missed the burning of the man, and never got to see it: Burning Man was set up indoors, almost like a college dormitory arrangement--there were cafeterias, escalators, etc. I had a dorm room that I decorated. At one point, this young Asian guy who was in love...

there are some really good points here in the thread, and you are all right: i have been focused on the label "newbie" without really realizing that established burners are simply reacting to CLUELESS newbies, or SELFISH newbies, or WIMPY newbies. guess it's kinda like the hippy thing or t...

LOVE your post, Friday Freckled, and I could not agree more!!! In my dream last night, someone was telling me that the most recent sale of an extra 1,000 tickets this week was actually a hoax created by hackers and scalpers. I, for one, am kind of hoping that community members stop by the event on their buses: I would want to smile and talk to them, pose for pictures with them, and show love.
