Re: Advice for building things that shall be burnt

as far as I am aware, here in the UK most wood does not come pre-treated with fire retardants.

thank you all for the advice. scavenging cheap wood would obviously be really useful, though we also want to laser cut some things so might not be best for that.

Advice for building things that shall be burnt

I am volunteering at a small European regional and helping develop plans for the effigy and temple. I would appreciate advice on what materials are best. Our budget is really low so we were considering using plywood for some parts, however I have been told that when this burns it can delaminate and ...

Re: Difference between BM and regionals....

Ooh that Awakening project musta been great. Nowhere is special, it’s much smaller than Afrikaburn but the landscape is very pretty and there’s a very culturally diverse crowd. They have less things on fire though because it’s often not allowed due to all the brush that could start a bushfire. But f...

Re: Difference between BM and regionals....

I went to Afrikaburn with a suitcase full of power tools and proceeded to get my wannabe badass ass handed to me by the coolest group of builders you could imagine What group was that? Was that for a specific project, or general build help? I know Verity did a cool temple in 2015. If I go I definit...

I was searching for info on regionals because I'm thinking of going to Afrikaburn next year and wondered if there were any regional comparisons going on in the forums. It's interesting reading others' opinions of reg...

Ah that's cool but how do you get onto it? In my head I'm picturing it being awkward getting from ladder into place.

Favourite small, simple art encountered? (interactive or non)

Just thought it would be interesting to share the little things that left an impact.. For sure we all love the giant flame-throwing stuff that you can climb up on or ride across the playa on, but what about those little, simple pieces of art found in unexpected little corners of things? or minimalis...

Festivals in UK and Europe (Secret Garden Party and more..)

Hello, I'm a Canuck expat living in the UK for a few years and can't make it all the way out to Nevada anymore. I am hoping to get involved in the Europe regional event, "Nowhere" in Spain. However, I'd also be interested in taking advantage of all the festivals in the UK and Europe this summer. I w...
