Re: Flat Art

Something like this might be worked into a small scale design with big results. Last time I was cruising around Utah (23 years ago) we were driving around and saw a sign next to a pipe that said "Dinosaur Footprint". So we got out and finally figured out that if you looked through the pipe it was p...

Re: Wild Ideas

Here's one. The infinite choochootrain! I just got it and it's also a march. One guy starts out with a smoke machine and boomblaster that is attached to a vest that's easy to take on and off. The boomblaster loops trainsounds. The vest has a button that allows you to send puffs of smoke at a time. T...

Re: Suggestions for Easy Art Project Created by High Schoole

How about taking the participation level even a step farther.. Can you take pictures of the students.. print them out.. make some kind of collage with them to bring to the playa/art installation.. and then on the flip side have a method of people jotting down thank-you's/reactions/responses/etc tha...

Re: the FurTile project

I like it! Love how it bends the name of the art theme. I'm definitely bringing some fur this year for the furpocalypse. If I was handed one of these and was told that it could be connected to other furtiles I would be on a quest for sure. These work great for decorating inside camp if the quest is ...

Re: Interactive LED Project: Please help us get the cost rig

Oh come on.. points for the roundabout way of advertising! "How much WOULD YOU PAY??" I thought it was pretty tricky, really.. On the flip side.. SUPER cool project! Atmel's progression with their chips is so super cool.. I actually had no idea that they had an RF integrated 128 now. Wow. I'...

Re: Interactive LED Project: Please help us get the cost rig

That's a very cool project, but offering a Kickstarter on here would get the wraith of "moderation". You wouldn't want that now, would ya? I'm sorry I think you're misunderstanding the post. This is not a kickstarter. I'm just doing marketing research for our kickstarter to work. If we make pledges...

Would you mind telling us how much you would be willing to pledge for our kickstarter?

Re: Emergent Human Art

More interactive movable art for sure. Like the list of ideas :)

We have a silly instrument marching band. Well bring a long a lot of silly instruments in a silly bucket and give them out to silly people who want to join the silly band (Kahn Kahn And The Happies, look for us on the playa!) 8)

Re: Interactive LED Project: Please help us get the cost rig

I know doing shortish-run boards like this can be pricey. I really hope you can raise enough cash to make this happen! Please let me know when you get the Kickstarter up and rolling and I'll post it all over the place, I've already shared it in a couple of places just this morning! I know it would ...

Re: Interactive LED Project: Please help us get the cost rig

Very cool project! Reminds me a lot of a section in "The Diamond Age" (one of my favorite books!) I can see kicking in $40-80 range for one of these. It looks like you're using an ATMega128 for the main chip. What are you using for the wireless comms? Thank you! And Thanks for the reply :) It's an ...

Happy Camp Interactive LED Project Kickstarter

This is the HappyGem! [vimeo]http://vimeo.com/36004549[/vimeo] We're setting up our kickstarter soon. One of our pledges will be for "adopting a happygem" , which means you can drop by our camp and pick it up at burning man. Our question is this: How much would you be willing to pledge to our kicks...

And now, in the tradition of very many spoofs on the this key scene in the film Downfall , the Wehrmacht learns that they won't be getting most of their planned Burning Man tickets this year. Re: An idea to help ease the issues with tickets.

I think that why they have the STEP program developed, to handle those returns (if they truly exist). The problem is that if anyone has extra tickets, the first people they're going to offer them to are friends and campmates.. not just throw them back into the communal bucket. Thus, I think the opt...
