Reading the theme left a dull thud, at best, inside me. Not inspiring in the least. When I go to Burn, I want to get away from anything even remotely like this. This feels like an invasion, of sorts. Sorry...theme's a dud. I can't help but wonder if it's not time to resurrect some past themes; since...

I'm leaning towards try_me's side on this issue, and I don't see where he/she was putting themselves on a pedestal, either. Looks like the only person on a pedestal was David, and while he's a pivotal figure at BM, I'd wager that doesn't give him the right of way to flout the intentions of the event...

My basic thought is: Just who the hell is HE to be determining what is 'best' for about 40,000 other people, or what an event that's bigger than he'll ever be 'needs', especially since he hasn't been there since the late '90's ? Publicity-hound for a failed 'career'. He got much more than he bargain...

While I try not to think in terms of "best", as it tends to diminish the value of any of the other gifts I received, there are some that particularly stand out. Most notably, the freedom from dreaming. Only during a post-Burn get together with my campmates did I realize that I had not had a single d...

Need help with the city map...
Looking at the PDF of it, there are no explanations for the different shaded areas. Can someone fill me in on what the designations are?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Spoken to, yes. Spoken at, no. All the adults I know don't talk like you do. You seem to run counter to some of the spirit of the event, depsite your eight years of it. It won't kill you to try being nice. Really, I promise. I am nice. I tried to tell the guy why people didn't stop. I'll admit that...

A lot of people give a rat's ass about another's approach to them. In some circles, it's called 'diplomacy', and it's usually beneficial. To both sides. You might try it; I'd wager it'd reap some nice rewards for you. Attitudes like yours are behind a great deal of conflict, and yet people like you d...

Name-calling. Nice. Here's the rub: You assumed that the load wasn't secured properly. You don't know that, and you'll never know that. Regardless, you ripped someone a new asshole, based on that assumption. Shit breaks, Shit falls apart. Stuff comes undone. It happens. Does it make you feel better ...

Plan, sketch, plan, sketch, plan, sketch. And when you're done, plan and sketch some more. Assemble a handful of your brightest minds to comb over even the finest points, in order to see multiple perspectives and head off any frustrations. Work through every step in your minds' eye, even when you go...

Do something about the squatters in center camp. Not people dozing a little, I mean the ones on the couch curled up in their sleeping bags for hours with their backpacks taking up floor space too. Hear, hear. I'll admit to less than polite thoughts about the people taking up cozy sitting space, in ...

I haven't reviewed the video I shot, yet; I do know the audio may be (intentionally) questionable, as I had the camera wraped in plastic the whole time, so the mics may be a bit muffled. However, I also remember capturing a few mintues of ambience from the outskirts on my minidisc. Like I said, I've...

Who had the BattleZone camp?!
And WILL YOU BE BACK NEXT YEAR? Holy shit, I thought I was gonna die when I saw that!! I was a mondo BZ champ back in high school (late 70's); thought that was the coolest game ever invented. To see it come to life was exhilerating. I think I managed to get some video of it, but not sure. I wanna dr...
