Re: Serial Rapist on the playa

And for the edification of all eplayans, there are convicted sexual predators at Burning Man every year. They go and register, like they are supposed to, according to law, at LEO trailers, and they are there. This makes me so angry I could scream, but there is absolutely nothing done to prevent this...

Re: Serial Rapist on the playa

Hi everyone, BlackRaven, I am so sorry this happened to your daughter. Please let her know that she is not alone, and that it is not her fault. I was raped at Burning Man in 2003 and have been working with the good people at B.E.D. since then to raise awareness of sexual assault on the playa. When t...

Ours finally arrived too. Not as many as we had requested, but enough to get our camp skeleton built. Whew. I'm glad to hear all this good news. Finally!

BTW Kernul, you are not alone, I still have not gotten all our passes, none of our emails to Shadow have been answered. So you are not alone. We have told half of our crew to stay home and come on Monday. Due to the sharing rides/gas/driving, some of our peeps will be camping in D Lot until Monday. ...

I stand corrected. It seems no system is perfect. I'm happy for Mars. It really does seem like there were only about 10 camps effected, and that is roughly 2% so maybe that's a sucess in their books? if fuck ups have been rampant in years before, maybe that's why no one in the Org seems to be concer...

This system worked perfectly last year and made things soooo much easier. It really was a nightmare to get people on the playa when it was name+ID. This system is better, it's just the output that got frakked up.

You know what? forget it. I'm done... noting we say or do will make any difference in the outcome. We will party in Lot D and wait until they are sick of us and let us in. See you there folks! I'll look for you and bring the vodka.

I don't believe in magic but I do believe that somthing very FUCKING SPECIAL HAPPENS AT BLACK ROCK CITY. Something special happens in my camp year 'round. And it takes a long time and a lot of work to get our folks together, from all over the US and all the way from Hong Kong. It IS a big deal that...

And so they have us by our proverbial balls. If we want to play we have to play by their rules. That's really what it boils down to isn't it? Make some noise and you get bumped to the back of the line, or carted off the property altogether.
So suck it up and play along.
Right?

Give the thyme camp's 40 days of logistic PLANNING AHEAD TIME. P.S. BMHQ pleas work with the camps on this thanks. _________________ We...

wow i also took it seriously. To date, we have not received any additional passes, so we are still in panic mode. Is anyone in IT? You def do not hit "send" on a new untested program and then go on vacation. You sit by and expect the worst and get ready to help those who are effected. so- I'm still ...

Honestly, how hard would it be to come on here and say" don't worry folks, we will get you all your EA passes. There was a glitch in the system, please don't panic" Something would be nice. Especially for those coming in from far away, like the Boise crew. This is not a great way to run an operation.

I agree! some communication would go a loooooong way. I think everyone must be on a retreat. they thought they had everything wrapped up for the year and went for a relaxing weekend at some hot springs or sumthin. boy are they gonna be surprised when they get back!

we have to have our camps built by sunday, but not enough peeps to actually make that happen. and the other thing is that we have peeps coming from all over the country and hong kong, flying into reno. they have bought their tickets... and now there's a chance they will have to stay in reno until mo...

CF, No, I don't want to live in fear, and I don't want to scare anyone into living that way. But I do, now, live in mistrust. And a little wariness might be a good thing. How do you balance it all? You don't want to be afraid to go out, and you don't want to distrust everyone you run into, anyone wh...

Re: umm.. no

Okay, I was raped, but it's still my experience. I'm glad I got the good experiences. I'm glad I didn't live in fear. I am a grown-up and I get to make my own mistakes and I get to learn from them. I am not a victim of my own life." Well, first of all, it's not a good experience. Secondly, I was a ...
