Re: Dear Abby: I think I’m camping with a Sparkle Pony.
Ditto. A few years back we gave a ride to a friend who had wanted to go for years whose wife had no interest. She finally agreed to "let" him go. She dropped him off at our house without a word, and practically burned rubber getting away. The friend was camping with an ill-prepared life long buddy, ...

Re: Politics, Everyday, All day... morning, noon and night....II
I attended a caucus in WA state on Saturday. Never been to one before, but seemed a good year to start. Was kind of a cold, dreary day, the sort of day that young healthy people don't mind standing in for an hour or so, not so much the older crowd, of which I was one. Most of the many Bernie support...

Dick's Cream Stout really is so creamy that you have to be really careful opening the bottle or it will foam up and make a mess. Have tried lots of other cream stouts and none have been even close.

Bought one at Cabellas about a month ago, and their website still shows them in stock. Great tent! One of the few that does not have a mesh roof, and also has zip up closures over the mesh doors.

Re: How much water do you use? RV camping
While you guys are wincing..... Not all women waste water. I use about a liter per shower, including washing shoulder length hair. Tricks include standing in a plastic wash tub (with a nice shot of vinegar added it it) to collect shower water, then reusing that water for washing with a wash cloth. U...

Last year at least two of the major carriers (I believe it was AT&T and Verizon) put in temporary towers somewhere accessible from BRC. I had full 4G service early event until about the time the crowd started lining up for official entry. After that, quite a few camps offer unsecured wifi that also ...

Re: Any advice on where to buy Temporary RV Insurance
The RV companies we have worked with offer insurance for the vehicle (not liability) as an add-on. We checked with our auto insurance, and they will cover the liability but not the RV, presumably since it is worth way more than the average car. I have heard of auto insurance policies that will add a...

Pretty high if you like straight espresso shots in the morning. We even had the PlayaSkool crowd stopping by last year.
However, the required T stake pounding and removal by all camp members seems to keep the riff raff away.

I have fibrocystic breast disease, so every annual boob exam the doctor freaks out at the lumps and schedules a mammogram. Then the guy who reads those sees odd things, then into the ultrasound room. Re: RV Key Query
The place we went RVs from has no problem with us making keys, but they do not supply them. We just stop by the local ACE and get a couple of spare door keys made. Carry them around on good quality lanyards (ones with split rings, not the little hooks that like to separate) hooked to a belt loop. Wo...

I usually lose a toe nail or so a year due to hiking down steep trails. Usually the new nail grows in under the old one, then the old one eventually falls off with no pain at all. This process often takes months, but depends on how bad the initial bruising is. The key is absolutely do not pick at th...

Re: Electronics in hot RV all day question
A couple of years ago my cell phone died a week or two after TTITD after being left in a partially shaded RV every day. Now I zip up electronics in a small softsided cooler that I leave open at night to let cool air in (I do not add anything wet). No problems any more. I also have a few meds that ar...

CaffieneGirl, I live in Missouri. There are no pyro training classes close by. You got me curious, so looked on-line. Grew up in the midwest and there were always lots of summer time fireworks shows. As I understand it, the origin of the mile was 1,000 paces by Roman soldiers. Took more than a few centuries later to standardize that. And the width of railroad tracks goes back to the butt width of a 2 horse team. I think most measurements somehow go back to body parts. Must be the size variation ...

Chilaquilles are a favorite egg dish in this house. You cook a mixture of tomatoes, spicy salsa, onions, and green pepper until almost dry. Also toast corn tortilla strips in a cast iron pan until nice and crispy. Scramble eggs with vegie mixture, and add tortilla strips and a little cheddar cheese ...
